Norwegian shred Mikkel Bang continues to bang out a killer season with his win today at the US Open at Stratton, Vermont. With a near flawless run of a switch front board to revert, front board 180 out, Cab 1080, switch backside 1260 Indy, frontside 1080, and a gap fron board to fakie shifty, Bang edged out fellow Norwegian Ulrik Badertscher and Canuck Seb “Toots” Toutant for the $20,000 prize. Saturdays Surf in Soho played host for the Casio G’zONE event last night showcasing its newest surf friendly phones, the Rock and Brigade. It was mellow but packed with people sipping on Asahi beer while a cool documentary about Maine’s Grain Surfboards played on the back porch. Most random spotting: breakdance legend Crazy Legs was in the house. But even crazier is the fact that the streets laced with snow just a few weeks ago and now its time to surf?
