Rad Collector - Philly Scarehouse Recap
In some more unique event coverage, Derek Rinaldi also brings us this recap of the Philly Scarehouse Halloween event.

Upstart New Jersey skate company, Totally Skateboards and Philly music legend McRad hosted The Second Annual Halloween Bash at the Philly Warehouse. The party spilled out onto Altar Street where the kegs and cookers were proudly taking as much abuse as the coping inside. No less than 5 sets of Philly bike cops rode by slowly to check on the action without a single concern for the imbibing. Further proof that cops and skaters can get along.

Read the whole story and peep some additional photos by Bryan Karl Lathrop and Zoli after the jump.

Rad Collector - Philly Scarehouse Recap

When I first started skating, there was a contest held in Philadelphia called the Philly Freeze. It was given that name that for a reason: it was held in the winter. Now, for those who live on the East, we can appreciate what that means. Not that the contests weren’t fun but, when you compare the street plants on the ledges and boneless tricks on the flat ground of Penn’s Landing to the almost luxurious amenities (couch, beer, protection from the elements) and the all out shredding that goes down at the Philly Warehouse, it makes you appreciate the progression.

Upstart New Jersey skate company, Totally Skateboards and Philly music legend McRad, hosted The Second Annual Halloween Bash at the Philly Warehouse. Being the fact that we may be a bit closer to Thanksgiving, than Halloween, we’ll keep it brief.

You can imagine the scene inside once the band started. There were about a half a dozen skaters dropping in at once, most landing their tricks before slamming into one another. At one point, a board shot from the bowl and hit the drummer from McRad in the head. After a brief audit of the senses and a chiclet count, the band was back at it. The oddest trick of the night was the kid who, on a dare, attempted a front flip off of the office vert wall and over-rotated to tranny check, via his face. Calls to 911 brought the fire department for some reason. We were trying to see if Gabe Angemi was on the truck, but then realized he’s in Camden. I don’t really miss the Philly Freeze that much.
