Since MOCA’s exhibit last year it seems like the “fine” art world has been more into skateboarding than ever. The latest crossover comes from France with Photographer David Manaud’s project with Electric at the Contemporary Art Museum of Bordeaux. C’est magnifique!

On Sunday night, Girl held the world premiere for their much anticipated 3D movie Unbeleafable by Ty Evans. The film unspooled as part of the Levi’s Film Workshop at MOCA and the skate stars were in full force at the Downtown Independent Theater in LA. Radcollector correspondent and photographer Catherine Nieves was on hand for the festivities which included a Girl retrospective and presentation by Evans and the Girl crew. From May 19 to June 12th the Levi’s Film Workshop in collaboration with Girl Skateboards brings the best and brightest talents from the world of skate films to the MOCA. Through screenings, workshops and events, visitors will experience how skate filmmakers are using everything from Super 8 to HDSLRs to stereoscopic 3D to make amazing films. All of this leads up to the world premiere of the highly anticipated new 3D Girl video “Unbeleafable”. Take a look at the full outline after the jump.

As part of the huge “Art in the Streets” show happening at MOCA comes this rad skate video retrospective tonight hosted by Patrick O’Dell. He’ll be showing classics like Video Days and Bones Brigade Video Show and then discussing them with Spike Jonze, Stacy Peralta, Lance Mountain, Ed Templeton, Greg Hunt, Ty Evans, Rick Howard, Aaron Meza and Tobin Yelland. Nike Skateboarding introduces Skate-able Art for the Art in the Streets Exhibition at The Museum of Contemporary Art, Los Angeles. Lance Mountain worked with artist Geoff McFetridge and California Skateparks to create the skate-able art installation that will see weekly skate sessions by the Nike team throughout the duration of the exhibition, April 17th -August 8th. To further celebrate the show, Nike SB has also created 24 unique pairs of Paper Dunk Highs, each made from an original piece of Geoff McFetridge artwork and also produced a series of specially packaged t-shirts by Lance Mountain, Neckface, Futura and CR Stecyk III.
