After hooking up one of the savviest partnerships in skate lifestyle retail with The General NYC, DQM is taking the concept national with the announcement today of The General Boston. No images are yet available but the shop will be on fancy Newbury Street which is arguably more baller than the store’s NYC location on Grand Street. One interesting footnote is that the Van Doren brothers were originally from Braintree, Mass outside of Boston meaning the store not only takes their story full circle but adds to Boston’s renown as the sneaker brand capital of the world.

Vault by Vans brings forth the next installment of Original Classics as a tribute to two iconic low-tops, the Era and Style 36. The OG Era LX follows the same design specs as its first run in 1976 for three styles featuring the archived “Palm Leaf” print. Vibrant color combinations in Navy/Green, Peach/Antique White and Pool Blue/Black reflect the edgy skate vibe of the ‘80s. The OG Style 36 LX is reintroduced for a duo of “Two Tone” offerings in Classic Blue/Dandelion and Orange Rust/Coconut Shell. First seen in 1978 with the Vans sidestripe, the Style 36 is the original rendering of the Old Skool. The “Palm Leaf” editions of the OG Era LX and “Two Tone” makes of the OG Style 36 LX arrive this June at key Vault by Vans stockists.

The 2013 Vans Pool Party went down this past weekend at the Vans Skatepark with the Master division showing what years of experience brings to the table.Chris Miller took home first place and $15,000, Steve Caballero was in second, and Christian Hosoi was in third. Christian Hosoi made a rare stop in Brooklyn last week to kick it at Skate Night at the House of Vans. In between destroying the pool and hosting a best trick contest, he gave Timbo a rad breakdown on pool skating’s renaissance and why skateboarding is and will always be the most fun thing in the world.
