Architecture for Humanity, a group that aims to “build a more sustainable future using the power of design,” has teamed up with Nike 6.0 for the “Safe Trestles” Design Competition. Currently the only routes into the famed surf spot are dangerous to both people and the environment, involving crossing active train tracks and stepping on fragile ecosystems. The Safe Trestles competition will implement the best design that provides safe access with minimal impact.

Rad Collector - Snow Center
No mountains, no problem. A new indoor snow facility, called The Snow Centre will open on May 6 in the city of Hemel Hempstead, an hour north of London. The £23 million structure has a 160 meter main slope and a 12 month membership costs £100. Between this place and the upcoming Xanadu complex at the Meadowlands, lets hope a trend towards eliminating the natural elements does not continue to catch on with developers. Sure its great to shred all year, and not having to worry about the weather sounds awesome, but if people start forgetting about the mountains, its a wrap. They’re the whole reason we ride. Some more pics of this monstrosity after the jump. For a mega step by step contruction gallery go here.

Rad Collector - Ramp House
This is too sick. Sure you’ve seen cribs with mini ramps in them and of course Steve O had that pretty dope apartment but nothing compares to the Ramp House. Archivirus Architecture and Design has created a house in Athens, Greece that is a totally skateable and inhabitable environment. Words can’t really describe how dope this thing is so check out a couple of pics after the jump and a bunch more as well as a cool writeup at Architectural Review Plus. Via Club Mumble.
