Rad Collector - Brooklyn Element
One thing about collabos is that even though everyone swears they are “played out” they open up new directions for the companies involved and when done right are always going to be dope. Case in point is The Brooklyn Element, the new project between Element and Brooklyn Machine Works. You’ve got coast on coast love, eco-friendliness and even some Pharrell thrown in the mix – boom that’s a collab! The Brooklyn Element will consist of a head to toe apparel pack and bike “ideal for alternative transportation, in all environments.” Take a couple looks at the apparel after the jump, we’ll have more on this soon.

Alternative Bike Locks

Rad Collector - Alternative Bike Locks
A little while back we brought you some semi interesting skateboard locks which weren’t all that interesting because who the hell locks up a skateboard. Anyway, in much more interesting lock news, DecoBMX has posted an story about alternative bike locks. Just a quick note, alternative here is not in the sense of new technology, eco friendliness, or any sort of mechanical innovation, it’s in the sense of like “damn I forgot my lock but I gotta take a shit somewhere!” Genius stuff. Seems dope. Read the whole interview with Nate Moroshan here. A look at the semi vertical dropout after the jump.

Rad Collector - Dave Mirra Brakeless Bike
BMX Legend Dave Mirra has decided to go brakeless on his new bike and is talking about it on the Mirraco site. This is gonna get gnarly:

The first day was a mystery because I have always used my brakes for certain tricks like tailwhips, spin tricks and tucking the lever for nohanded 360’s. I adapted immediately and actually learned tuck 3’s without the lever. It is a totally new feeling. It’s like your parents saying go ahead and take the car alone for the first time.
