Max Fish End of Days Art Show

After what feels like years of rumor and speculation, not to mention several “closing” parties, Max Fish is officially closing up shop in the LES. Apparently they are not moving to Vegas but instead across the river to Brooklyn. As a final, final hurrah for the bar, they’re hosting an art show with some NYC fixtures like Ricky Powell, Dave Ortiz, Craig Wetherby and more. Hit the jump for full details.

While the X Games were raging more than a hundred thousand deep on Buttermilk Mountain a secret cabin tucked into the foothills of Ajax was where the really rad action was happening. Peter Line got his first ever tattoo while Halldor Helgason’s magic tour bus touched down for a session right before the Major Lazer girls went on a twerk fest and Bun B and his wife got matching heart tattoos. Phoenix Sun Channing Frye came through with one of the Jackass dudes and Louie Vito contained his urge to dance to the sounds of Roofeeo from TV on the Radio. For the release of Dylan Rieder’s new Sonoma Pro Light Thunder Truck, he has teamed up with Hobo Wine Company to produce a special edition hand crafted Cabernet Sauvignon. Yes, its true. LES staple and skate haven bar Max Fish is set to close on January 30th. After twenty one years, the news is proof that the office shirt wearing yuppie fucks have finally ruined the Lower East Side. Oh well, all good things must come to an end, but don’t think the Fish isn’t going to go out with a bang.
