A couple weeks ago the New York Times ran an article entitled “Has Snowboarding Lost it’s Edge?” which despite the corny headline, made some good points about the decline in the sport’s overall steez thanks to aging and skiers biting everything that made snowboarding rad. With this in mind we are stoked to see Arnette fighting the good fight with a rad Bad Brains collabo goggle for next season. Let’s just hope the plankers don’t get ahold of it. In a continuing creative partnership, Vans and iconic rock band Metallica proudly introduce a four-piece signature collection designed by each band member delivering to stores in February. Each Metallica member – James Hetfield, Lars Ulrich, Kirk Hammett and Robert Trujillo – had free reign to choose any iconic Vans shoe style and make it their own while drawing from their favorite influences in the worlds of music, action sports and art to create Vans shoes reflecting their personal style. Etnies has teamed up with 90’s pro skateboarder and Japanese tattoo artist, Toshikazu Nozaka. The etnies x Nozaka collection fuses his traditional Japanese art with skateboarding and punk-inspired design to customize some favorite etnies shoe and apparel styles. We recently spotted this BUrton x Lifebeat collab board at SIA Snow Show in Denver. Lifebeat, a national non-profit that uses music to raise awareness and funds in the fight against HIV/AIDS teamed up with conic female hip-hop group Salt N Pepa and the result is dope as hell.

Vans has teamed up with “Love Me” artist Curtis Kulig for a 3 shoe collab of Vans Classics for Valentines day. A red Authentic with an all over embroidered “Love Me”, a checkerboard Slip-On with paint splatter design, and oversize embroidered “Love Me” SK8-Hi Slim, a women’s specific style. To coincide with the launch of their new skate program, Official Crown of Laurel has released a capsule collection with Stefan Janoski, who’s also just signed to the brand. With design cues from Janoski himself (peep the clear visor) it looks like the beginning of a partnership that will yield some rad product. The final installment of HUF’s 10th Anniversary Photo Tee Series has dropped and features none other than legendary lensman and Transworld helmer Skin Phillips.
