The French dudes at Desillusion are always up to some cool shit. Their latest is the short film “Into the Thicket” which takes Chris Haslam, Todd Myers, and Mat Howell into the forests of Vancouver Island to build a skate ramp using almost all natural materials. This is dope.

Electric has just announced the release of two new sunglasses as part of project BLUE. Both the Module and the BPM feature polarized lenses and will see portions of their sales go directly to the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) Environmental Fund. G-Shock showed off several new collabos last night at their annual G-Shock the World event in NYC. First up is the newest version of their series with the Surfrider Foundation. As always a portion of the proceeds go to protecting surf spots, aquatic life, and the ocean in general, something which in the wake of this BP mess, needs more help than ever. Architecture for Humanity, a group that aims to “build a more sustainable future using the power of design,” has teamed up with Nike 6.0 for the “Safe Trestles” Design Competition. Currently the only routes into the famed surf spot are dangerous to both people and the environment, involving crossing active train tracks and stepping on fragile ecosystems. The Safe Trestles competition will implement the best design that provides safe access with minimal impact.
Nike 6.0 BMX has joined the fight against the planet’s over reliance on gasoline by teaming up with Beat Gasoline, an organization trying to reduce gas use. To launch their campaign they dropped this rad PSA of Dennis Enarson, Garrett Reynolds, Nigel Sylvester, and Mike Spinner ripping around London and demonstrating what we all know is true: skating or riding any city is way more fun than driving a car. They are also running a contest for the best home made videos illustrating this point. Winners will get product and a donation to charities of their choice. Go here to enter.
