Adidas recently threw down for a rad event in Paris called The Obstacle featuring Mark Gonzales, Lucas Puig and Benny Fairfax proving once again that when some shit goes down in France, it goes big. This past weekend Hayter Communications held an “editorial shredfest” at Stevens Pass in Washington’s Cascade Range. The idea was to bring together a select group of journalist & photographers to test out 2013’s most unique snowboard/outdoor gear from a variety of brands that included Ride Snowboards, Poler, POW Gloves, Smith Optics, Helly Hansen, Stanley, Pop Chips, Full Sail Brewing, Microsoft, Kind, Spacecraft, MTN Approach and more. Outfitted with a 1999 Fleetwood Jamboree GT RV towing two Urals and stockpiled with gear, beer & snacks the Northwest welcomed us with over 30 inches of fresh powder. Attendees included Jake Hanson (Hayter Comm), Graham Hiemstra (Cool Hunting), Craig Wetherby (TheGoodLife!), Noah Johnson (Complex), Justin Gural (Venture There), Mike Horn (Stoke Lab), and TC Worley (Gear Junkie). TheGoodLife! and Louie Vito got together once again to make shred life history with their annual blowout event at the Belly Up in Aspen. This year’s party starring Raekwon and Ghostface Killah with DJ’s Spider, Tina T, and 12th Planet plus a surprise takeover by the Lady WuTang was an over capacity jumpoff that had the likes of Trouble Andrew and the Trouble Gang, Santigold, double X Games gold medalist Mark McMorris, Torstein Horgmo, Mikkel Bang, Kazu Kokubo, Danny Davis, Keir Dillon, Sal Masekela, Jake Burton, and even a gang of NFL’ers including Zane Beadles, Adam Weber, Blake Haudan, Jon Hoese, Eric Decker, Knowshon Moreno, Dave Bruton and Zac Robinson throwing W’s in the air til the early morn. This past week ThirtyTwo hit a major milestone with its 10th Anniversary of Boot Camp in Brighton, Utah. 32 invites went out to select retailers and media to partake in four days of shredding, partying, and clinics on the newest line of ThirtyTwo boots & outerwear. With 32 inches of snow falling, unlimited demo gear, group dinners, and a Utah Jazz game on the agenda, this was one hell of a shred trip! Last night in NYC the launch party for the collaboration between WeSC and The Standard went down at the hotels night club, Le Bain. The event jumped off with a screening of Cheryl Dunn’s film “NYC Dream Jam”, a Kanon Vodka open bar, and a live performance by Steed Lord. Guests included WeSC’s own Tracy Anderson, Amy Gunther, Ricky Powell, Alex Corporan and many more. On Monday, November 7th, Stoked and Mountain Dew are teaming up with Paul Rodriguez, Nigel Sylvester, Alex Corporan, and 5Boro’s Steve Rodriguez and Mark Nardelli for After School with Paul Rodriguez & Friends, an inspirational event for youth in New York City. There will be video screenings, product giveaways, talks by the athletes and veteran NYC skate community members mentioned above, and music by DJ C-Lo. The event is open to youth of all ages at New York City College of Technology in Downtown Brooklyn from 4 to 6 pm.

San Francisco was in the building on Thursday night when FTC & Chrome celebrated the release of the FTC 25th anniversary Yalta backpack at the Chrome store in NYC. With live performances from Banner Pilot, Dead to Me, and DJ Gizmo on the tables, the store became a private CMJ showcase.
