In April DC hosted the Burning Ink art show at Frank’s Chop Shop in the LES, a concept show in which the works could only be bought if the buyer was willing to tattoo them on his or her skin. The prints were then burned upon completion of the tattoos. Vans Syndicate and our fam at SHUT took over the LES on Friday night with the launch party for Rodney Smith’s deck and sneaker pack. Tammany Hall held the event and the place was filled with NYC skate OG’s, industry heads in town for Maloof and of course, sexy ladies. Rodney and SHUT co-owner Adam Schatz both performed live music sets while the crowd enjoyed the open bar. Check out a gallery of photos from our editor Brad Clarke after the jump.

Thursday June 2nd at 3pm is the Love & Guts Super Session at Chelsea Peirs. Join legends Lance Mountain, Jim Murphy, Steve Steadham, Ron Chatman, Christian Hosoi, Pat Ngoho, Bryce Kanights, Puppet Head, Papo, John Grigley, Ben Hatchell, Ivory Serra, John Fudala, Grind For Life’s Mike Rogers, Armando Roura, Tony Farmer, Buddy Nichols, Rick Charnowski, Harry Jumonji, and MC Billy Rohan to celebrate Thrasher’s 30th Anniversary and the Love and Guts art show opening at 7 PM at the Red Bull Space. This is going to be a session not a demo so bring your board. Oakley will be there giving out free product and NY Skateboarding will be covering the event. The 13th annual TWS awards popped off and of course our homie Blair Alley was on the red carpet holding down the interviews looking real sharp in the Clarke Oxford woven. Check out what Lizard King, Chris Ray, Shane O’Neill, Torey Pudwill, Andrew Reynolds and more had to say about the night.

The weather may be shitty all over the US but the forecast is calling for rays in Varazze, Italy for this weekend’s Vans: Off the Wall Spring Classic 2011. Last Friday was the launch party for G-shock x KRINK watch release and exhibition called “Spray Paint the Walls”. The walls were covered in KRINKS trademark dripped paint and guests enjoyed live performances that included a set from Nina Sky. Peep the watch and a couple party pics after the jump.

Everything Went Black is a culmination of work and series of portraits documenting a span of punk shows, fashion, music and skateboarding culture. Jimmy Fontaine’s photos deem a stimulating and raw vision that has been described as an “undeniable, candid richness”. Comune will host a opening reception for the exhibition on Saturday in Costa Mesa, check out the flyer after the jump.

This year’s 9th anniversary GSD will have the streets of countries all over the globe taken over by skateboards on June 21, 2011.
