If you are one of the many NY and LA’ers in Miami this week for the party meets culture clash that is Art Basel, we have one thing that you must see. NYC x Rio De Janeiro crew TWD is throwing a massive group show that takes their collective weight from the streets and into 3000 square feet of raw space for an unprecedented mingling of cosmic energy known as “The Warrior’s Dream.” The show features artists Pixote, Sabio, Sye 5, Cern, Fresh, Erasmo, Carlos Baptista, Brian Sensebe, Kori Girard, and Brock Fetch, along with musical performances by Trouble Andrew and Jasmine Solano and a slide show by Ricky Powell. This past Saturday, Nike held the opening reception for its Made for Skate The Exhibition at Sixth & Mill in downtown LA. The exhibit gave guests a look at 10 years of evolution for the Nike SB brand. Hit the jump for a gallery of flicks from the evening. Photos by Jacqueline Kynoch.

Phenom photographer and Radcollector columnist Laura Austin, whose body of work by age 21 dwarves many lifelong artists in both scope and quality, has undertaken a rad new project with “Everyone’s a Photographer.” A group show opening at the Lomo Gallery in LA tonight, “Everyone’s a Photographer” features the impressive lineup of Chad Muska, Corey Smith, Jared Eberhardt, Jeremy & Claire Weiss, Natas Kaupas, Ian Ruhter, Danny Zapalac, Jason Lee Parry, and of course Laura Austin herself. Radcollector columnist, Monster editor in chief, and German skate documentarian Oliver Tielsch is curating a dope exhibit opening today that focuses specifically on New York City’s relationship with skateboarding. If you are anywhere near Köln aka Cologne go check out NYC|C including works by Giovanni Reda, Todd Jordan, Mike O’Meally and more. NYC|C runs through October 18. Full info is after the jump.

Supra is throwing some support behind the visual arts with a traveling show featuring hip hop photographer Mike Miller at Supra Flagship stores worldwide. The exhibit begins in Paris on September 27th, then hits NYC on November 1st before landing in Santa Monica on December 6th. Each exhibit will feature limited edition city-specific t-shirts and signed copies of Mike Miller’s book Michael Miller Photography, West Coast Hip Hop: A Story In Pictures.

They may love their scooters, but the French are also a serious skate nation and the birthplace of etnies, one of the biggest forces in skateboarding. This summer from June 18 to August 7, La Gaîté Lyrique in Paris will host, skate events, films, parties, and concerts including Dinosaur Jr, Tommy Guerrero, Mix Master Mike, Ray Barbee, McRad, Lords of The Underground, Boys Noize, Antipop Consortium, Busy P, Bad Shit, and The Goat and will feature etnies’ Pierre Senizergues’ – curated exhibit on the future of skateboarding in the next 25 years.

From May 19 to June 12th the Levi’s Film Workshop in collaboration with Girl Skateboards brings the best and brightest talents from the world of skate films to the MOCA. Through screenings, workshops and events, visitors will experience how skate filmmakers are using everything from Super 8 to HDSLRs to stereoscopic 3D to make amazing films. Beams T-Harjuku in Tokyo is hosting an exhibition from March 18 through the 31st celebrating 11 years of art from Stacks. Eric Elms, Kevin Lyons, Geoff McFetridge, Michael Leon, Evan Hecox, Paul Stec, Laura Leon, Steven Harrington, Nick Neubeck, Rick Myers, Paul Hutchison, Mark Owens, Bob Kronbauer, Matt Irving, Rob Abeyta Jr., Mike O’Meally, Jon Humphries, Joshua Petherick, Andy Jenkins, and Jonathan Zawada, Gillian Schwartz are included. Curated gives us the heads up on a super rad exhibit at the California African American Museum called “How We Roll.” Dedicated to the unique role blacks have played in the shaping of skateboard culture and featuring dudes like Ray Barbee, Chuck Treece, Steve Steadham, Chris Pastras, Atiba Jefferson, Pep Williams, Stevie Williams, Terry Kennedy, Shuriken Shannon, and more, the exhibit runs until January 2.
