Hoods to Woods X Fight the City | NYC Fundraiser

Our friends at the Hoods to Woods Foundation have partnered with lifestyle brand NY Brawlers for a custom boxing glove art show titled “Fight The City” featuring artist from around the world. Part of the proceeds will help fund Hoods to Woods Foundation free outdoor programs to inner city teens. The event takes place tonight at the Times Hotel in NYC from 7p – 10p. Entry is free and open to the public so stop by to support a good cause. Hit the jump to see the flyer and all the info.

The youthful passing of Aussie pro skateboarder Lewis Marnell from complications with Diabetes was one of those things that confirm the old adage of “only the good die young.” In the spirit of Lewis, Ben Harper and the Go Skateboarding Foundation have come together to release a new version of “Jah Work” with the Innocent Criminals with all proceeds going to help Lewis’ family. Neff Forever Boston Tank

Burton x Lifebeat | Salt N Pepa- “Ah Push it” Board

We recently spotted this BUrton x Lifebeat collab board at SIA Snow Show in Denver. Lifebeat, a national non-profit that uses music to raise awareness and funds in the fight against HIV/AIDS teamed up with conic female hip-hop group Salt N Pepa and the result is dope as hell.

Bring Back The Boardwalks

Friends Marilyn Rondon, Dave Ortiz, Tim Strazza, Ulli Barta and Wyatt Neumann have come together to create “Bring Back The Boardwalks“, an organization dedicated to providing funds and relief to victims of the storm, specifically targeted in the Rockaway Beach and Coney Island communities. With help from Spike Jonze, Adrian Grenier, Elijah Wood; and featuring donated works from the likes of Curtis Kulig, Michael Halsbald, Tom Sachs, Milton Glaser, Futura, Jason Goldwatch, Peter Tunney, Kenzo, RoStarr, SWOON, Ricky Powell and many, many more, this art event should prove to be not only a kick ass exhibition of some of New York’s finest, but also a great fundraiser for fellow New Yorkers in need. Please join them this Saturday, November 17th, from 2pm – 9pm at Trais Gallery, 76 Wooster St, NYC.

In some sad news, influential skateboarder Reggie Destin was hit by a car in Chicago by a drunk driver while skating in the bike lane last week. Reggie is currently in a medically-induced coma in critical condition and could use your help. Go here to donate funds to help his recovery.

Plan B x The Sheckler Foundation

Plan B has connected with Ryan Sheckler’s The Sheckler Foundation for a limited edition deck as part of Sheckler’s “Be the Change” campaign. All proceeds of the deck as well as other donations will go directly to the Port Gamble S’Klallam Tribe in Washington State so that they can build a skatepark. Go here to get involved.
