New York newsprint surf magazine, The Usual has collaborated with Patagonia for its latest issue the “Bowery and Beyond” edition which will be released to coincide with Patagonia’s first East Coast surf store opening this Spring on the Bowery. One of our favorite magazine from back when magazines were cool was Mass Appeal. With a dead on grip on the pulse of NYC and the ripple effect influence NYC had on other cities plus a dedication to not giving a fuck, it was one mag we always looked forward to. We have to admit, everything the homies at Desillusion magazine in France are doing is fucking on point. Following several genius collab issues and accompanying videos, the crew connects with fellow frenchman Benjamin Jean Jean for a truly one of a kind surfboard. Watch and learn.

Desillusion continues their feature series with “Tome 4″ dedicated to surfer Alex Knost. Following pieces on Trouble Andrew, Andrew Reynolds, and Ozzie Wright, “This is Alex” is another look at one of our cultures more interesting personalities.

As part of their latest issue, Bitchslap Magazine linked with Danish blog The Meat to shoot a fashion spread in the woods outside of Copenhagen. Peep the rad edit they created featuring Libertine Libertine, Penfield, Norse Projects, Volcom, Stussy, Carhartt, Nike SB, Vans, Huf, Obey, Han Kjøbenhavn, Moscot and Herschel Supply Co.

In opening up some of their archives from the 60’s Life magazine recently republished som shots from a 1965 feature on skateboarding in NYC despite the visible cues that date the photo, the multicultural component of the NYC scene looks to be reppin as hard as ever. The freres at Desillusion Magazine in France have started a new web series called “Brother of the Weird” spotlighting other creatives in the world who are blending the lines of so-called action sports and arts, culture, and music. The first episode features Campbell Milligan of the Sydney, Australia based crew behind Monster Children magazine.
