It was wack as hell that Go Skateboarding Day got canceled in NY last week but they made the right decision, it was a shitty day with at least 5 different major downpours. Anyway, things are looking up this weekend with Go Skateboarding Day now going on Saturday with bright sun in the forecast! To show how psyched they are CCS decided to do a NY to LA Go Skateboarding Day commemorative tee. They are also hooking up an ice cream truck for skaters to follow around the city and get blessed with free ice cream and these tees. Two places you can definitely find the truck are the Chinatown skatepark and KCDC. Full ice cream truck info after the jump.
You’ve seen previews of the Off Bowery Productions x Altamont collection, now we have the whole kit for you to check out. As part of Altamont’s Cut From a Different Cloth program, which aims to “bring together a diverse group of creative outcasts—people who make their living by doing what they love most,” they had A-Ron put together everything from denim to tees to fitteds to a friendship belt that embody the Off Bowery steez. Look for these in select stores soon. Full looks after the jump.
Mike Giles has just posted an image of his new deck for the contributor organization we mentioned a couple days ago as part of the Mumble x Furni collab. If you don’t know about contributor, it’s a program to provide skateboards to any kid in Canada that cannot afford one. Although you might not associate Canada with poverty, there are evidently some people outside of the country’s generous social welfare system who need some help. In any case, skateboards for kids is a worthwhile cause anywhere in the world. For the project Giles re-interpreted his first pro deck, the Jeff Grosso Santa Cruz. Check out the original reference after the jump.

Like the opening of Al Capone’s vaults, but this time with something of value actually inside of them, KCDC has just put the last few remaining pairs of their Chukka Low collab with Vans and Neckface out for sale. You better go hard to Brooklyn if you want to get a pair of these.

The impresario of the Bread & Butter tradeshow, Phil G, recently put together a photo shoot at Berlin’s Tempelhof Airport. Knowing security these days, he must have had some pull to make that happen! Shot by veteran skate photographer Alex Flach with German pros Willow (Etnies), Lenny (Nike) and Sebastian (adidas), the whole thing makes for a nice welcome to Berlin. For the whole story and gallery go to here.
The Matix crew recently pulled Marty Murawski, Brandon Beibel, Mike Anderson, Marc Johnson, Daewon Song, Torey Pudwill, Jeron Wilson and Mike Mo together to rip up a warehouse for a day. This mellow edit shows some of the fun behind the scenes. Look for Matix fall 09 online at at retailers soon.
Nike 6.0 is going hard in SoCal this summer with the opening of the Motel No Tell at the historic Inn at Calafia Beach in San Clemente. Transforming the 16 room hotel into the epicenter of all things 6.0, the Motel No Tell will do everything from house athletes to host events like movie premieres, product launches, art shows, and workshops. The Motel will also feature an onsite retail lobby stocked with 6.0’s most limited edition product. There’s even a BBQ hooked up for endless courtyard partays! More on this dope spot this week.
Plan B TV dropped this dope little “How to Manual to Kickflip” video featuring Scott Decenzo although it’s not up on their site for some reason. Thanks to youtube you can watch as Scott runs through the trick with what seem to be some super straight forward instructions while making it look mad easy, even switch. If it were only that simple, right? Via WeBleedWood.
