Emerica Wild in the Streets Video

01 July 2009, 16.13 | Posted in Events, Skate Parks, Skateboarding | No comments »

Emerica recently took over Vancouver for their first “foreign” edition of Wild in the Streets. In addition to running amok with every skater in town, they paid homage to Leeside Skatepark and Lee Matasi with some exclusive tee shirts. Check out the madness right here – this is what the world would look like if skateboarders took over – for reals! Via Skateboarder Mag.

Quiksilver Signature Skate Denim

Rad Collector - Quiksilver Signature Skate Denim
For Holiday 09 Quiksilver will be dropping three new signature skate jeans. Developed for Reese Forbes, Danny Garcia, and Alex Olson, all three pieces feature stretchable, moisture-wicking Cool Max fabric. Sound too techy? Hell no. Radcollector took all three pairs out on a test skate yesterday and in hot-as-balls NYC, you couldn’t ask for anything better. The little bit of stretch takes the chafe away and lets you hold shit in your pockets without the seams immediately starting to bust. You definitely don’t get nearly the hot crotch and the jeans stay pretty dry. All three are good cuts with minimal detailing, so no one will ever know your secret. Individual looks after the jump.

Rad Collector - Go Sk8 iPhone App
Go Sk8, a new iPhone app that simulates a game of S.K.A.T.E. has just launched in the iTunes store. If you’d rather hang out on your phone rather than actually skate, you can play ledge, manual, transistion, and flat-ground versions with the challenges chosen by a “trick wheel.” Interestingly, Danny Gonzalez is the spokesman for this app, that was a smooth transition! Go here to download for $1.99. Via Skateboarder Mag.

Rad Collector - IPATH Mantis
IPATH has another nice release in the pipes, the Mantis. Clearly influenced by the Grasshopper, the Mantis also pulls heritage from the Fred Gall pro model with a removable ankle strap and the Darius with its vulcanized sole. Look for the Mantis to drop as part of the Holiday 09 delivery. More info and looks at another colorway coming soon.

Rad Collector - Diamond Supply Co Michael Jackson Tribute Tee
Who knew MJ had so many fans in skateboarding? Here is another tribute tee, this time from Diamond Supply Co. A bit more cheerful somehow, than some of the others we’ve seen, Diamond’s version takes it all the way black to the Jackson 5 era Mike. This will be available on Wednesday July 1st at Diamond’s online store at 11am PST and in-store at their LA location on Friday July 3rd. Via CtotheJL.

Rad Collector - Western Edition x Vans 10th Anniversary Sk8 Hi
Back in March we showed you the fresh Western Edition 10th Anniversary Miles ‘59 Quintet Series decks. Well it turns out that they also hooked up a one of a kind pair of Vans Sk8 Hi’s as a cherry on top of their anniversary cake. A perfect extension of the deck artwork, these feature full panel close-up illustrations of Miles’ band members and a tri-color Western Edition logo on the back. You will absolutely not be able to get these. Via NSB.org. More looks after the jump.

Rad Collector - White House Game of Skate
NYC Skate scene kingpin Billy Rohan took a trip down to DC over the weekend to attempt to entice President Obama into a game of skate. Obama didn’t show to throw down his presidential manny to kickflip but it did make for some rad pictures. Via The Skateboard Mag.

Danny Gonzalez Retires

With Danny Gonzalez retiring from skating due to injury last week, the sport says goodbye to a true innovator. Transworld Business gives us a bittersweet reminder with Danny’s part from 1999’s The Reason. It’s not hard to see why he finally had to chill on the ankles, damn!

Pulp68 Michael Jackson Tribute Tee

Rad Collector - Pulp68 Michael Jackson Tribute Tee
JMZ of Pulp68 in Geneva was also inspired to do a Michael Jackson tribute tee. The “Sad” graphic is a stirring homage to the iconic album Bad and really cuts to the heart of all the circus surrounding the Gloved One’s passing. After all it is just sad. The Pulp 68 Michael Jackson tribute tee will absolutely not be sold for profit at any time. JMZ gave shirts away in the streets this weekend and is now preparing to auction some off for charity. If you are interested in getting one or partnering for another free or charity version of this shirt, contact JMZ at mj@pulp68.com. More looks after the jump.
