Vans OTW Advocate Chris Kong has put his custom take on the Alomar for the holiday season. The shoes colorway was influenced by ‘80s skate and BMX culture and sports a bold red and blue color palette along with lightning bolt embroidery. Expect these to drop in November and hit the jump for a closer look.

Rob Dyrdek’s empire within DC has grown so large that he now has five full collections under his name: The Alumni Collection, Baseline Collection, Covert Collection, Heritage Collection, and USA Collection. On top of that he has two signature shoes. There isn’t another athlete with the exception of Jordan with that type of market penetration. You have to admit, it’s pretty amazing.

Italian shoe brand ellesse, who re-issued their classic 80’s basketball-turned-skateboarding shoe The Assist early last year, are continuing to work with the model and are now releasing a version in collaboration with Milan shop Special. We’re not totally sure if this is 100% official but Sneaker News has the story on these Dunk Low’s from SB deemed “Black History Month.” According to the story they were designed in part by Theotis Beasley and will be part of a big February 2013 roll-out from Nike.
