As part of their presence at the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, which spanned across pretty much every sport in the games, Nike did something a bit different for their Snowboarding program. They commandeered The Board Room, West Van’s OG shred shop, and installed an exhibit of snowboard innovation and memorabilia that spanned four decades, dozens of riders both new skool and olde, and shit from almost every brand to touch the snow. It was pretty fuckin rad. Check out the full feature on HighSnobiety . More photos from both inside and outside of the capsule after the jump.
The homies at Homies Grounds just dropped the next episode of Down the Stash with Tonton Holland and Cédric Giovanola owning the wilderness at Avoriaz.
Most contests are pretty whatevs but Foursquare got it right with their “Win Pat Moore’s Jacket” contest. Alls you gotta do is write Pat a note at foursquare@theprogram.com telling him what the most functional feature of your jacket is and he’ll pick the best response and send them a spanking new Foursquare Coco Jacket in Citron with his autograph on it. Contest ends on March 29 so you better get at it.
Without further ado, here is Party Snake Again? Pt. 2, with less puking and more shredding. But are they really gonna make us watch this in three minute increments?
Ride’s season crowning event, The Shakedown at Snoqualmie jumps off tomorrow at the Summit at Snoqualmie. Rad ass features, a ridiculous rider list that includes E-man, Dan Brisse, Darrell Mathes, Dustin Craven, Forest Bailey, Lucas Magoon, Marc McMorris, Sebastien Toutant, Yale Cousino, and a bunch more plus a healthy emphasis on partying, the Shakedown is definitely one of the year’s raddest throwdowns. The Canadian version goes down at St. Saveur on April 2.
Neff continues to blow up in huge proportions. Check out this ad Sony Vaio made starring Shaun Neff that is running as the top video on YouTube right now. This shit is big time. Dope concept, dope execution and dope cameos from Louie Vito, Chanelle Sladics, Steve Aoki and more.
Rad Collector columnist and renaissance chiquita Laura Austin recently dropped her raddest decent exposure feature yet, with Snowboard Magazine’s founding and now former photo editor Mike Basher. At only 30, he’s about as OG as you can be in this game. Read the full interview here.
Now that the Olympic are over Vancouver and its surrounding mountains can go back to being what they are truly known for – the home of the Party Snake. If you are currently eating anything, you might want to stop. Seriously. Stay tuned for the full-length coming soon. Via Updown.
