Dragon is back with this years update to the APX, their groundbreaking wide angle goggle that pretty much started the recent giant lens trend. If you haven’t gotten on the hill with a pair APX’s with red lenses after a doob or two, you are really missing out, its the closest you can get to being on Mars without the spaceship. Spy and Herschel give us another reason why collabs won’t and shouldn’t ever go away with their new two-goggle pack. Consisting of two signature frames, the $160 Platoon and the $130 Marshall, the Spy x Herschel pack is thought out from front to back right down to the mini Herschel bag replica cases. Transworld Snowboarding and the Huffman brothers, Lukas and Jesse, have combined creative forces to produce “Snowcraft,” a new web series dedicated to the finer elements of snowboard design and craftsmanship. In the first episode they look at Powderjets, hand-made boards from Vermont as well as Gentemstick, a Japanese mark made for powder. “Snowcraft” also features Mark Carter, Dave Short, and Mads Jonsson.
We don’t even really like LA like that but there’s no way to front on this insane snowboard collab between Nitro and Estevan Oriol. These are the hardest decks of 2012 easy. So hard, in fact, that they don’t come out until 2013. Stay tuned for availability. Check out the top sheets after the jump.
Some ill futuristic shit is going on today with the long awaited release of the Oakley Airwave, the first major manufacturer snow goggle with built-in heads up display that basically turns you into the Terminator on the hill. The tech specs are so tech that we’ve lifted them straight from Oakley, so hit the jump to read them and see the other colorway.
Burton and G-Shock have joined forces to bring you an indestructible digital snowboard watch, the GDF-100. The black rubber watch sports turquoise accents, a Cordura nylon strap and Burton logo on case and backlight. Obviously the timepiece measures temperature, pressure, altitude and anything else you may need on the mountain. Look for the GDF-100 to drop in November and hit the jump for some more looks.

In some lighter hearted news, Swiss watch brand Home has announced that Travis Rice has joined their team. This awesome welcome video is further proof that T-Rice is the raddest man in the game.
We could editorialize all day about this crazy news but its probably better you read it firsthand over at Transworld Business. The short version is that Forum, Foursquare and Special Blend are done after this season, Gravis is moving to Japan-only, Analog is moving back to a snow-only brand based in Vermont, and RED is being absorbed into anon. As fans of all these brands, we are bummed, the snow gods owe us some serious pow for this one.
