Swedish eyewear brand Monokel recently launched with the release of their short film, “A Day at the Office.” The rider driven company has three classic frames right out the gate and a team that includes Viktor Wiberg, Rolf Nylinder, Fredrik Rasmussen and Philip Grund. Taking it up a notch from their counterpart in NYC, the re-opening of the Oakley Flagship store in London tomorrow will feature a massive chandelier made out of 4000 pairs of Frogskins and illuminated by changing colored lights. Oakley opened their new flagship store in Times Square this past Thursday with a private party that drew the likes of Ryan Sheckler, Nigel Sylvester, and Rodney Torres as well as a wide range of NYC industry heads, media and brand fanatics. The new location, under MTV studios, carries a full range of Oakley products and features a custom sunglass bar in the back. Arnette introduces a chunky frame into their lineup this week with the release of the Heavy Hitter. With big lenses and extra wide arms, these are your friend whether you’re floating between sets or just stuck in traffic hopin one side of your face doesn’t burn off. The Heavy Hitter comes in a bunch of rad colorways including the translucent ice blue above as well as with polarized lenses on some models. As if timed perfectly with his latest route at Winter X, Oakley previewed Shaun White’s new 18k gold Frogskins at SIA in Denver this weekend.
