Continuing the rollout of dope products helping to clean the oceans, Electric has released their contribution to the project BLUE campaign. Proceeds from both the Meter (pictured) and the G.Six will go to “coastline protection initiatives worldwide.” If you need new glasses, it’s hard to argue against buying these. Nike 6.0’s Keir Dillon made all the rounds in Huntington Beach last month from bikini babes to BMX to skate and of course surf and put together this vid of the whole shebang. Sharks Prefer Fish to Surfers

Hawaiian NBC affiliate KHNL had a story this week about how fast Blacktip sharks can accelerate when they are after something and included video that showed two surfers within striking distance. They also included an expert that said that even though they’re equipped with unrivaled killing abilities, a Blacktip has never attacked a human. That’s definitely good to know. Via Boardistan.

Rad Collector - Roxy Dear and Yonder Premiere
Roxy and Paper Magazine teamed up last night to premier the new Roxy surf film Dear and Yonder by Tiffany Campbell and Adria Lessler. Throwing a block party at Mollusk Surf Shop and Secret Project Robot in Williamsburg, it had both things a surf party should – endless beer and beautiful surf chicks. Roxy ripper Kassia Meador was on hand with an exhibition of her photos and there was even a full live set by Amanda Blank. Check out a gang of photos after the jump.

Over in the southern hemi, Billabong has just released a collab collection with Australian pro surfer Taj Burrow, called the Taj Co-Op. Way more sophisticated than most would associate with surfwear, the collection spans from high end tees to some pretty ill hoodies and jackets to headwear and accessories like a wallet and a watch. Nike 6.0 Stinkween Video


We showed you the ill Madsteez x Stink Nike 6.0 Stinkween Braata last week, now check out how this creation came to life in this video featuring both Mark Madsteez and Evan “Stink” Rossel and their collabed character creation “StinkWeen” which is itself “a fusion of Madsteez’s scrappy cartoon self-portrait “Weeneze” and a mischievous alter-ego doodle by Stink.” After you peep the vid, head over to Stinkween.com and enter your own Stinkween-inspired character to win a hand-painted portrait of yourself done by Madsteez himself. In a complete takeover, Madsteez will also be down in Huntington Beach, California this week painting three murals at Jack’s Surfboards just in time for both the US Open of Surfing and the shoe release on July 24 at both Jacks and the Motel NoTell.

It’s about to be on. The Hurley US Open of Surfing will kick off July 18 and run until July 26 as the best of the best converge upon Huntington Beach, California for the chance to stoke out upwards of half a million people and take the US crown. Now in it’s 50th year, the US Open will feature late-afternoon concerts, Hurley’s Walk the Walk fashion competition, elite-level BMX courtesy of Nike 6.0 and world class skateboarding courtesy of Converse and Red Bull.
