For those of you out there that still think this is a hoax, tonight is the moment of truth as Louie Vito really will come out on national TV and get his Fame on as part of Dancing With The Stars. You gotta admit, it sounds so stupid and unbelievable that you’re probably gonna tune in just to say “What the fuck?!” Congratulations ABC, mission accomplished. If you want to take it a step further and actually vote, all the info is right here.
It may as well be DCTV. Following the heels of Rob Dyrdek getting the green light for season two of Fantasy Factory, Travis Pastrana and his crew have gotten another go around for Nitro Circus. They’ve even been bumped over to MTV’s “See You Thursday” programming, which actually sounds pretty lame (must be the cuts in marketing at Viacom), but should be a good look for the show nevertheless. DC athlete Jolene Van Vugt will also continue to Vugt shit up as Nitro Girl while Jim DeChamp, Andy Bell, Erik Roner, Street Bike Tommy, and new guy Special Greg, will also be in the mix. There’s bound to be a Ken Block cameo too. Not coincidentally, the first season of “Nitro Circus” is set to release on DVD on Tuesday, September 8th. Season two of “Nitro Circus” will premiere on Thursday, August 27th at 10 PM ET/PT. For more go here.
No fucking way. In what is either a further sign that the apocalypse is upon us or one of the slickest hustles a pro rider ever pulled off, it’s been announced that Louie Vito will be on this season’s Dancing With the Stars. Co-stars include Donny Osmond, Kelly Osbourne, and ex congressman Tom Delay. This shit is too crazy!
Not surprisingly, Rob Dyrdek’s second MTV series, “Fantasy Factory” was a huge hit and has been renewed for another season. Starting August 27th at 9pm you can once again join the dude with the best life in the world for his adventures in skateboarding and superstardom. The new season drops just in time to lead up to the October release of Dyrdek’s new DC apparel and accessory line and his 15th DC pro model, the RD1 Mid. More on that soon.
Oakley has announced a rad project for this winter with “Tracking Eero” a multi-media project following the winter of Finnish super shred Eero Ettala. The project, a joint effort between Oakley’s 1242 Productions and Friday Productions, the crew that did “Terje’s Season’s Pass” on Fuel, will consist of a television series, webisodes and a documentary video. “Tracking Eero” will follow Eero from Russian military zones to Japanese pow to Heli shredding in BC and will also feature appearances from Nicolas Muller, Danny Kass, Eiki Helgason, Torstein Horgmo, Terje Haakonsen, Jake Blauvelt, Eric Botner and Kevin Pearce. Ettala himslef pushed the idea saying “I wanted to do something different from my usual season filming a video part. The idea of a TV show, webisodes and a snowboard movie gave me the chance to go anywhere in the world, ride with whoever I wanted and really try some new things.”
‘Tracking Eero’ will air on international television networks throughout the ‘09-’10 winter, including FUEL TV, NRK, MTV3 and Gaora Sports. For more go to trackingeero.com.
In some vaguely skateboarding related news, Jason Lee’s My Name Is Earl has been canceled after much speculation as to its future. The show was decent, better than most stuff on network TV for sure, but not the type of thing you’d expect would be around forever. Some people, however, aren’t taking this sitting down and have organized a “Twitition” to bring the show back. Yep, if you log onto Twitter, you can Tweet the Earl Twitition and attempt to be a part of TV history. Good Luck!
Rob Dyrdek’s new MTV show “Fantasy Factory” debuted last Sunday and has been running all week. Not surprisingly, it’s a good show with a dope mix of skating, “moguling,” and just effing around. To celebrate the new season, Dyrdek had a party at the Fantasy Factory to watch episode 2 with his homies Steve Berra, Stevie Williams, Terry Kennedy, Tony Tave, and Greg Lutzka, as well as an assortment of MTV “personalities” and media. “Fantasy Factory” airs tonight on MTV. Pics after the jump.
DC’s pro motocross rider and rally car driver Travis Pastrana premieres his new show “Nitro Circus” on MTV this Sunday, February 8, 2009. Branching out to TV after a successful string of DVD’s, “Nitro Circus” will feature Travis and his crew trying to kill themselves or each other any way they can, most likely using a motor vehicle. Apparently, MTV has action sports fever. Catch it at 10 PM EST.
Guess who’s bizack?! Rob Dyrdek will be returning to MTV this Sunday, February 8th, with his all new MTV reality show “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory.” Picking up where “Rob and Big” left off, “Fantasy Factory” will center around Dyrdek’s top secret Dyrdek Enterprises headquarters and the various hustles Dyrdek is involved with including developing his own line for DC, starting a toy company and building his own indoor skate plaza. Expect cameos from Ken Block, Danny Way, Lindsey Robertson and a host of Dyrdekian supporting cast members. The first episode of “Rob Dyrdek’s Fantasy Factory” airs this Sunday at 9pm EST/PST.
