Odeyssey Denim Company just dropped their Fall 2010 Lookbook so you can figure out watch to rock when its time to put away the shorts. The companies roots are based in skateboarding with a signature collection from Shut Pro, Javier Nunez and advocates the likes of Steve Olsen, Daniel Castillo, and Fabian Alomar. NYC’s original skateboard brand SHUT has been featured in the latest issue of Central Magazine. The Barcelona-based art/skate mag has a brolic ten page spread on SHUT covering both the history and the future of the brand and with a ton of good shit on Rodney Smith, Luis Tolentino, Javier Nunez and more. There is definitely alot of hype around “How to Make it in America,” HBO’s new downtown NYC-based series. Whether the show makes it or not remains to be seen but one thing is for sure, they really went the extra mile in the marketing. Aside from the Green Lantern mixtape and the Alife hats, they’ve gone so far as to produce the pro model deck of the skateboarder character Wilfredo Gomez and are selling it on HBO.com. Since Javier Nunez plays the yet-to-appear character, it only makes sense that Shut made the decks. There’s another Shut connection too, Creative Director Eli Gesner is a consultant. Axion keeps making steady moves and had an even bigger presence at Agenda that included some apparel and team members like Manny Santiago and Javier Nunez. Their standout silhouette, the Mandela, has been expanded in both colors and fabrications for fall including the leather “Gucci” model above and a blue and grey canvas model in addition to the purple suede. Towards the end of this summer, éS took Mike Anderson, Bobby Worrest, Rick McCrank, Danny Garcia, Rodrigo TX, Justin Eldridge, and John Rattray, linked them up with Euro team riders Javier Sarmiento, Ricardo Paterno, Gauthier Rouger, Sven Kilchenmann, Andi Welther and Stephan Günther and had them rip a four country path of destruction through Europe. The Great éScape, as it was called, has now been turned into three video edits, the first of which drops today. Parts two and three will drop December 7th and 14th respectively.
With Axion finally hitting the streets again, the strength of their team is going to go a long way in determining their success.
