You gotta love progression. At the Nike 6.0 HB BMX comp that went down on the beach in Huntington last week as part of the Hurley US Open of Surfing, Daniel Dhers introduced a new trick called the Cash Roll. Shit is no joke. Make sure to peep it in slo-mo at the end. Via Vital BMX.

Rad Collector - Western Edition x Vans
There was a bit of a stir a little while back when the pics surfaced of these sick, sick Western Edition Sk8 Hi’s. A lot of people, including some of those close to the brand, didn’t know how they came to be. Turns out they were done by RAW skater Nate Keegan’s homie Hush, who took apart a pair of Sk8-Hi’s and meticulously reconstructed them into the WE 10th anniversary tribute joints you see above. Check out some more of Nate’s pair after the jump. These are 1 of 2 – the only other pair went to WE’s Ian Johnson, who created the graphic. Via Re1000.

The Brooklyn Element

Rad Collector - Brooklyn Element
One thing about collabos is that even though everyone swears they are “played out” they open up new directions for the companies involved and when done right are always going to be dope. Case in point is The Brooklyn Element, the new project between Element and Brooklyn Machine Works. You’ve got coast on coast love, eco-friendliness and even some Pharrell thrown in the mix – boom that’s a collab! The Brooklyn Element will consist of a head to toe apparel pack and bike “ideal for alternative transportation, in all environments.” Take a couple looks at the apparel after the jump, we’ll have more on this soon.

Rad Collector - Emerica Rip Slip
On the OG tip, Emerica is dropping the Rip Slip, a new model for spring 2010. Billed as the first fully skateable slip-on loafer, this is the perfect kick for pushing to the store for 40’s and blunts and then coming right back to the beanbag chair without having to put back on your house shoes. There is a rumor that Snoop commissioned his own special pair after seeing these. Stay tuned for more on that. Two other colors after the jump.

Rad Collector - Emerica Braydon Hi "Agassi"
Emerica has another green banger in the spring 2010 Braydon Hi “Agassi.” It’s not hard to see where Braydon Szafranski got the influence for this new colorway, but it will be interesting to see if he backs it up with some cut off jean shorts and a bleached mullet.

Vans x Starter

27 July 2009, 12.15 | Posted in Skateboarding, hats, lifestyle | No comments »

Rad Collector - Vans x Starter
The Starter comeback is about to get crazy. Vans just showed off their two upcoming collections of Starter hats at Agenda and they are bananas. So bananas in fact, that the samples were kept in a locked display and were screwed into the case! That’s right, they weren’t taking any chances on these. Peep bangers like the naval flip and two canvas models along with classic logo applications in the perfect Starter sports steez that can’t help but to bring you back to 7th grade. The first pack of seven will hit as a quickstrike on August 15 and will only be available at top tier US accounts with each retailer getting access to just one pack. For Spring 2010, the next seven designs will be available globally. More looks after the jump.

Axion Mandela

Rad Collector - Axion Mandela
There’s been rumors back and forth about this for years, but it is official, Axion is back in the game for Holiday 2009. A solid brand when they were poppin in the 90’s it will be interesting to see how they do this time around with C1RCA at the helm. They are keeping it pretty misty and only had one shoe on display at Agenda, the Mandela, and it was a pretty early sample but was definitely looking good. They had some renderings of things to come so expect more on this as soon as we get it. A couple more looks at the Mandela after the jump.

Shake Junt x Agenda

Rad Collector - Shake Junt x Agenda
Bringing it back to Agenda, Shake Junt was in the house as part of the Baker Distribution display. You wouldn’t really think that the dudes at Shake Junt would spend much time working a trade show, and true to form they didn’t. Instead they hooked up their booth to feel exactly home and they lounged there all day doing what they do best: not giving a fuck. This was definitely the dopest setup at the show. A couple more looks after the jump.
