This is some fly shit. Orisue and Terry Urban for The Press Play Show have hooked up a nice giftie for the summer with the “Songs to Skate To” mixtape. Featuring 27 bangers across pretty much every genre across the board, “Songs To Skate To” is music taken from some of the best skate parts in recent and vintage history including Nas “Made You Look” from P-Rod’s part in “Yeah Right”, Public Enemy “Harder Than You Think” from Koston’s part in “Fully Flared,” and Nina Simone “Feeling Good” from Shane Cross’ part in “Ruthless.” Download it for free right here and get yer skate on! Full tracklist including skate parts after the jump.
Quiksilver has a particularly strong collection for the upcoming 2009-2010 season, taking it mostly back to the essentials and keeping minimalist rockability in mind throughout the line. One standout is the Batfox jacket and pant. Coming in camo, black, and most surprising, an all-over US flag print (when was the last time somebody would even think about wearing something like that? Yeah Obama!) and ringing up at only $195 for the jacket and $150 for the pant (no flag pattern on these tough) the whole kit is steez for a really dope pricepoint. Check out some looks from Quik’s NYC showroom after the jump.
Mike Blabac dipped back to LA to release his book and shoe in LA on Friday. Legends were all around: Lance Mountain, Danny Way, Rob Dyrdek, Steve Berra, Jason Ellis, Atiba Jefferson and more came through the DC store on Melrose to pay homage to a dude that has immortalized many of them with his lens. Check out some pics after the jump. To get the book go here.
Here is some zen to start off the day, The Gonz in adidas Skateboarding’s “Diagonal.” This shit is too dope, he is 40 yo. Watch or download the whole film here. Via Joyengine.
Nike SB’s Debacle has been lauded by most as one of the raddest Am flicks of recent memory. Find out just what they did to make it so dope in this behind the scenes video. Via Webleedwood.
Huf just did a couple of decks with Real, who just happen to be the board sponsor for the brand’s namesake, Keith Hufnagel. Not surprisingly, they are dope with a graphic that looks to be a crowd shot from Woodstock (or could be just about any day up on Haight) and a lil bubble hollering out “Collabo!” on it. Why? Cause that what it is. Take a closer look after the jump. Available now at Huf locations. Via HighSnobiety.
The illest summer bag out there by a long shot, Burton’s Lil’ Buddy has two new colorways for Summer that have just landed at the Burton flagship stores in Chicago, New York and Los Angeles. If you have one of these from summer’s past, you know, the cooler/stereo speaker/goodie stash combo is impossible to beat. Both the mod “Clash” colorway (above) and the classic “400 Plaid” go for $59.99 and are in stock now. For more store info go here. Check out the other Buddy after the jump.
The Hype BR, Brasil’s leading lifestyle blog featured Brooklyn’s Boundless in their news section today. The Hype BR’s founder Lucas Penido stopped through on a recent visit to NY and chopped it up with Boundless CEO Nick Langella about what’s poppin at the shop. A full service skateshop and lifestyle boutique at one of the dopest locations in BK, it’s no wonder that Boundless is catching that international love. Brands called out in the pictorial include Shut, King Stampede, Deathwish, Baker, Manik, Girl, Vans, Huf and more. Check out the entire piece here.
The Huf crew just posted some sicks pics of a rad all day skate mission they recently had in San Francisco with Slap and FTC. Check out Billy Teichen, Mike Sullivan, and Elliott Zelinskas having the time of their lives here. A video is in the works too. Photos by Hanni El Khatib.
