Survive | NOLA + Detroit

30 May 2013, 12.48 | Posted in Art, Events | No comments »

Corporate underwritten art shows are a dime a dozen in cities like LA and NY, especially ones that aspire to have a look and feel of something spontaneous, but for the most part lack any true inspiration other than money. That’s why its remarkable to see the LA based Survive project creating authentic art experiences purely for the sake of art. Starting in New Orleans and now moving to Detroit on June 8, LTS KOG artists SINER, FISHE, DREYE, Kyle Thomas, and Nathan Smith produce a one night only pop up of 36 3×4 foot canvasses and invite local residents to come experience the art without any commerical stings attached. Check out the moving video from NOLA above and hit the jump for full Detroit info.
