In yet more P-Rod news, Jason Bergh brings us the official word today that just 24 hours after taking second at MMC NYC, Paul Rodriguez has signed an exclusive deal with Rob Dyrdek’s Street League. This seems to confirm what most are saying: Street League is about to be running shit. Watch the deal get done at The Berrics.
Fresh off his $40,000 take at the Maloof Money Cup, P-Rod has his sights on the next big cup event: The World Cup. Here he is in NYC last night repping Mexico hard with the GoodWood World Cup pendant. These things are everywhere! Get one here.
In what must have been a deal with God, the Maloof Money Cup finals went down yesterday with a mind blowing finale that saw Chris Cole take 1st place for the 2nd year in row, literally seconds before the rainfall that had been predicted to wash out both days of the contest finally hit. P-Rod and Torey Pudwill rounded out the top 3 and took home $40,000 and $25,000 respectively, which although impressive for a weekend’s work, had nothing on the 100 g’s Cole got to roll around in last night. Check out the full contest results here and our gallery of photos after the jump.
Day 1 of the first ever Maloof Money Cup in New York City went off in pretty epic fashion despite grueling heat and the lack of any place to buy a beer within miles of the event. P-Rod blazed through qualifiers in first place, Torey Pudwill won the Best Trick Contest, and every rad skater in the world, literally, was in attendance. The throng of kids who, in pure New York fashion, would run up on every skater and demand an autograph, sometimes even while they were in the middle of a qualifying heat, showed without question that skateboarding in NY has reached an all time height. Full qualifier results are right here and flicks by Brad Clarke are after the jump.
Shane O’Neill has the whole world going nuts right now after breaking the mold with his ridiculously dope breakout pro part for Skate Mental. Wanna know what it feel like to have the eyes of the whole skate world on you, ask him yourself at Primitive this weekend. P-Rod’s spot in Encino will be hosting Shane this Sunday, May 23, at 2pm. Full info after the jump.
