Burton x Full Bleed | “Joystick” Release Event Edit


Skateboarding and snowboarding collide with the release of the “Joystick “series of snowboards by Burton featuring images from New York City skateboard photography book Full Bleed. Burton’s Soho Flagship store hosted TheGoodLife! produced launch event for the 2013 collaboration where guests enjoyed treats from The Meatball Shop with drinks from PBR, Smirnoff, and music by DJ Smoke L.E.S.. The Crosby Press was in the mix and got a chance to connect with the books creator, Alex Corporan and Radcollector’s Brad Clarke for their thoughts about the epic night. Yesterday was the release party for Chrome’s second edition of their magazine, Wrenched NYC. We linked up with our dude and coordinator of the event, a Mr. Alex Corporan for a mini tour of the LES locations carrying the publication. Our journey included having some Heineken’s at Epstein’s with stops at SHUT and Invisible NYC before heading over to the Chrome store in Soho. The night jumped off quick with a packed house enjoying free booze and an off the charts performance by Jeru the Damaja that had the whole place rocking! The array of guests spanned from New Yorkers to San Fran heads that included Matt Sharkey, John Cardiel, Craig Wetherby, Amy Gunther, Ricky Powell, Eli Reed, David “Shadi” Perez, John Igei,Troy Denning, Dave Ortiz, Kenny Anderson, and more. Today is Full Bleed Day in NYC, with a legendary lineup of NYC skateboarders and documentarians coming together for a signing at SHUT Skate Mechanics from 4pm to 7pm and then an opening for the book’s gallery show at Milk Studios from 8pm to 11pm. Radcollector homie Alex Corporan is a true OG in skateboarding and NYC. Between working for etnies and running their showroom he is also getting ready to drop a New York City Skateboarding photography book entitled Full Bleed with Vice. Even with all that going on, Mr. Corporan found time to team up with Jeff Plisken from Raised Fist Propaganda for a dope board featuring a photo of Iggy pop that Alex took himself. The board drops soon, we’ll keep you posted on where.
