Rad Collector - Emerica Design-a-3
Emerica has just announced a pretty rad contest, the Design-a-3. Taking it all DIY style, aspiring sneaker freakers can vie for a chance at perfecting the classic Reynolds 3. It’s pretty simple, just download the template here and make sure you put together a banger. The winner will be chosen by Reynold’s himself and will receive a years supply of their design and the kicks will be released by Emerica as a limited edition later this year. As contest go, it doesn’t get much doper than that. Better get crackin, though, the contest ends on May 5.

Back To The Berg

 Back To The Berg
It’s the legendary San Francisco leap, the big four set that became history when Mark Gonzales first ollied it in 1991 for his part in Blind Skateboard’s “Video Days”. Many after him tried, failed, gave blood, survived – or succeeded… Andrew “The Boss” Reynolds flipped it frontside and backside, Chris Cole did a TreFlip and Darrell Stanton switch BS 180′d it. Since the Wallenberg School re-profiled the run up from the nearby Vega Street, the spot, or at least the big four, became nearly unskateable as skaters aren’t able to gain enough speed to jump the 6 x 18 feet. Once again, Thrasher Magazine sets up a roll-in to host the “Back To The Berg” contest at the infamous spot, inviting a good bunch of today’s top notch skaters to jump it. The winning move will be worth 10.000$ while the first girl to jump the set will get a grand. The event will take place on May 30th.

Altamont's Cut From A Different Cloth | Andrew Reynolds

Altamont has started a series of short video interviews on their newly launched website. Directed by Patrick O’Dell, the first episodes feature skating legend and Altamont co-creator Andrew Reynolds.

“…he shares his philosophy on pursuing his interests to the fullest, the state of skateboarding today and his perception of where Altamont fits into the equation. Basically, it’s a quick glimpse of how Andrew is cut from a different cloth from the run-of-the-mill pro skateboarder.”

Check it out here.
