Burton recently opened one of their innovative Stash runs at Killington, Vermont following successful installations at Northstar at Tahoe, Avoriaz, France, and The Remarkables in New Zealand. High Snobiety’s Jeff Carvalho recently toured the Stash and did a great interview with the man who is largely to thank for one of most progressive resort programs in recent history, Jeff Boliba of Burton. It’s been announced that Burton will once again provide the official snowboard outerwear for the U.S. Snowboarding Team, this time at the Vancouver 2010 Olympics. Burton will partner with Gore to produce ultra high end outerwear for riders representing the U.S. There are no images as of yet but Greg Dacyshyn, Senior Vice President of Creative at Burton, recently gave a preview of the outerwear design, which will be revealed once the 2010 Olympic U.S. Snowboarding Team is officially announced. Here’s what he said:

The inspiration behind the U.S. Snowboarding Team outerwear for the 2010 Olympics is classic Americana. Although we are creating a uniform, our first objective is to express the individuality of snowboarding. As such, we are taking vintage American looks and interpreting them in a very unique and unexpected fashion. Finally, we will ensure that all of the highest technical attributes are maintained in the pieces, so that performance and function are not jeopardized. The result will be a progressive and fresh look that challenges the former conservatism of the Olympics.

Burton has tapped artist Mark Ward to design for their Spring/Summer 09 collection. The designs are loud, but definitely true to Ward’s style. Via Mashkulture. More after the jump.

Burton Flagship Stores have a treat for all the New Yorkers out there. The New York Store will be hosting a series of day trips up to the slopes in Hunter Mountain, NY. Burton has worked on another collaboration this winter season. The Alife NYC x Burton is based on the Burton 09 Custom board, but comes with a Sintered Base. The board comes in two sizes – 158cm and 162 cm. The board will not be sold at regular retailers; it will be available at ALIFE flagship and Burton flagship stores globally. It will deliver around Thanksgiving 08 and retail for $619.

As expected from Alife, the snowboard comes with a very clean design, good for today and for years to come. Look out for the release in the near future.

The Burton x Futura Vapor Snowboard that has been first presented months ago, has now finally been released in Burton flagship stores. Featuring a rather simple black upper, it comes with a full on Futura graphic on the bottom with custom Futura Burton signature.

Aside from the board, Futura also got together with Burton on a first layer outfit. It consists of pants and matching top, featuring a multicolor check design by the artist. It is now available at SlamJam.
