Since the opening of its doors in 2010, the Chrome NYC store has been on the pulse of the city with its various events, collabs and high quality bags & biking products. When the brands president, Steve McCallion stopped by the flagship store he gave the crew over at The Crosby Press a rundown on the roots of the company.

Chrome, a brand whose offerings get more on point with each release, have taken on the task of migrating their waterproof backpack tech to outerwear. The result is the Storm series. Consisting of the Cobra technical waterproof hoodie and the Field, a technical waterproof M85 jacket, the Storm series is specific to bike performance but not exclusive to it and can be worn in any situation requiring lightweight, waterproof functionality. One of the best booths at Agenda this year had to be Chrome’s custom bag project where a talented Chrome seamstress walked you through picking out materials and then assembled a bag of your creation. Our own Tim Brodhagen was lucky enough to land one which you can see after the jump.

As you saw in our photo recap, living legend John Cardiel was in NYC recently for the launch of his sick bag collabo with Chrome. Radcollector’s Tim Brodhagen had the honor and privilege of getting an exclusive run through of the collection from Cardiel himself. Last Friday on every potheads favorite holiday was the NYC launch of John Cardiel’s travel bag collection with Chrome. The day started with a private event at the Chrome NYC Store and then moved to Sweet & Vicious for an open bar party with DJ Gizmo on the tables. New York heads came out in numbers and attendees included Alex Corporan, Jeff Pang, Ray Mate, Tim Brodhagen, Mark Nardelli, Ivory Serra, Rodney Smith and Josh Zickert just to name a few. John Cardiel and crew go on a 100 mile bike ride from Sacramento to Chico to peep the production on his new Fortnight travel bag at the Chrome Bag factory. Did we mention that the Sierra Nevada Brewing Company is two blocks from the factory? See what went down in the video above.

San Francisco was in the building on Thursday night when FTC & Chrome celebrated the release of the FTC 25th anniversary Yalta backpack at the Chrome store in NYC. With live performances from Banner Pilot, Dead to Me, and DJ Gizmo on the tables, the store became a private CMJ showcase.
