One of snowboarding’s purest and most epic events, the Legendary Banked Slalom at Mount Baker in Washington state is almost the snowboard equivalent to Mecca, with every true shredder pledging to be there at least once in their life. Last Friday night was the opening of The Hunt, a new shop in NYC that specializes in one of a kind vintage Americana items and oddities at 72 Orchard Street in the LES. Shop partners Jake Lamagno, Dylan Rieder, and Steven Ditchkus hosted the opening which was filled with tons of unique pieces and photography from Craig Wetherby and Jimmy Fontaine. Trouble Andrew recently re-invaded his homeland up north for an epic trip of shred, sushi and shows in both Vancouver and Whistler as part of the Telus Fest. All the media attention may have shifted to the Euro X Games but visually, historically, and culturally, the 30th anniversary of the US Open was the highlight of the 2012 season. Analog, who’ve been running the Permanent Light Archive, or PLA series for the last year to “showcase photographic works of Analog team riders, artists and friends” is having a show with these riders, artists and friends opening this Wednesday June 23rd at the Shorebreak Hotel in Huntington Beach, California. The deep roster of contributors includes 13th Witness, Arto Saari, Hamburger Eyes, Atiba Jefferson, Grant Brittain, and Radcollector columnist Craig Wetherby, whose iconic Cyclone photo adorns the flyer.
