DC today announced that they are adding Jolene “Nitro Girl” Van Vugt to their elite moto x team. In doing so, Jolene, who you might know as the looker on MTV’s “Nitro Circus” has broken the gender barrier to become the first woman on DC’s moto squad. Originally from Canada (like everyone else on TV these days!) Jolene’s appointment comes with a packed resume of accomplishments including being the first female to backflip a full-sized dirt bike. She’s also got a grip of Guinness World Records and sponsors like Alpinestars, Fox Racing, Electric Visual, EVS, Ogio, and Giant Bikes. A look at her without the helmet after the jump.
DC has announced that their “King Of” series is coming back for a 4th year. A global “street spot” contest that looks to expose the best unsponsored talent in each city it touches down in, the “King Of” series has been taken up a notch this year with the creation of the DC Kings team, a team consisting solely of “King Of” contest winners. The DC Kings team will receive marketing and product support from DC and has the potential to create a bonified pro out of an unknown. Kicking off in Dublin on July 25, the King Of series will hit Vancouver, Rome and Chicago and a possible undisclosed 5th location. For more info go here.
For the 3rd season in a row, DC is doing a collabo with the action sports world’s favorite NYC hotel, the Hotel on Rivington. All bellstaff will be rocking the DC Life Admiral in red all summer. A full grain leather and suede hi-top with square perforated accents, the Admiral matches the hotel’s lobby carpet and was picked to go with the staff’s Ted Baker London uniforms. Not a bad place to work eh? Word is, if you know the right bellman, you may be able to work out a pair for yourself. Might as well give it a shot right? Some images of the hotel lobby after the jump.
