The next drop in the Skateboarding Starts With éS web campaign dropped today with 2004. What was so great about 2004? Well, Facebook was founded, Ronald Reagan died, PJ Ladd won $10,000 at the Second Annual éS Game of SKATE, and Eric Koston dropped the K6. Go here to relive it all.
éS just dropped this ad for their new all purpose skate shoe, the Square Two, detailing it’s myriad of uses. As you can see, there are few things it’s not “Great for.”
We also really liked these 1995 hats from éS. Both the block numbers and the gingham are a fitting tribute to the year hip hop died. A look at the other pair after the jump.
Yes there is more from Agenda. Just a year after bringing him onto the team éS has given John Rattray his own shoe. The Rattray in both burgundy and blue will drop for Spring 2011. Check out some more angles as well as the blue after the jump.
To go along with his new book, 15 Years of Photos, Atiba Jefferson connected with éS for his first namesake shoe collaboration with the brand. The Atiba Jefferson éS Square 2 has a black nubuck upper with Atiba’s signature on the heel and a Film Roll logo on the tongue as well as famous photos throughout underneath the sole and on the insole. Peep detailed shots of the shoe after the jump.
“Skateboarding starts with éS” has launched its timeline for the year 2001. That year Eric Koston added a young prodigy to the team by the name of Paul Rodriguez, and Arto Saari was named Thrasher’s SOTY. Thats just a taste of what happened in the éS world that year but you can read the rest here.
Tomorrow, July 10th, éS and Homage Skateshop in Brooklyn will be hosting a Know The Ledge Contest. Skaters from all over submitted video of their best ledge tricks and viewers chose the top ten skaters that will skate in the contest. You can see the top ten video submissions here. The winner of the contest will receive $1,000 and a years supply of shoes from éS. Check the Homage Skateshop website tomorrow at 8 PM EST to watch the finals live in HD, and peep the flyer after the jump for info on the after party.
If you’re in LA today make sure to check out the release party for the collaboration shoe and Atiba Jefferson’s first book, a history of 15 years of photo’s working with éS. Check out the video above and flyer after the jump.
eS teamed up with skateboard legend Sean Sheffey for his own flip on the Square One Mid. Sheffey’s signature is embroidered on the side and his clothing company “Laced” is stamped on the cuff. Take a closer look at the shoe after the jump. Via SuelasdeGoma.
As part of their rad ongoing SkateboardingStartsWith.eS throwback website project, éS has done us all the huge favor of posting 2000’s Menikmati in its entirety today. Burnquist, Koston, Rick McCrank, Tom Penny, Arto Saari, they were all there, as was a youngster named Paul Rodriguez, damn its hard to believe how much has happened in only a decade. But enough bullshitting, make yourself a sandwich and roll something up and watch it right here!
