Grenade announced today that all of their non-knit headwear will be made by New Era. Although making fitteds with New Era isn’t really groundbreaking news, it is interesting that New Era chose to put Danny Kass on the cover of their superfan lifestyle magazine Fitted. But what happens when truckers make the full shred comeback? Because they always do.

This is pretty random but we felt worthy of the post for a few reasons. The first being that we like Grenade and have always had high hopes for their success, the second being the fact that the shoes weren’t all that impressive at first glance, and the third being that if anyone is experiencing a 600% increase in sales, its gotta mean good things for everyone. So here it is, Grenade has pre-sold more than 9,000 pairs of kicks for Spring 2010 and footwear has become the most successful part of their business. Who woulda thought? We’ll let you know what happens next.

This being an Olympic year and all, and Danny being an Olympian, Grenade is going hard to expand their brand reach. But while speed skaters and lugers try for Wheaties boxes, Visa ads and other boring ways of cashing in on the Olympic craze, Danny and the Dingo are on a boat. We’ve given you some looks at the super rad matte olive green Grenade x Oakley Frogskins over the course of the summer. Well they are finally set to release this Monday August 24. In a fresh loyalty move, all 150 pairs will only be available online to Grenade Army members and once they are gone, they are gone. Each pair will come hand numbered and will ship with a bunch or other Grenade collectors items along with the glasses/case/dog chain kit we showed you before. In continuing the tradition of “Japan gets all the good shit” Thrasher Magazine and Grenade are releasing an exclusive Japan-only collab on the CC935 pipe glove this September. Coming in a nice christmas-y red and green, this is another solid move by Grenade as they continue to push way past being a snowboard specific glove company. A look at the red ones after the jump.

We previewed the sick Oakley x Grenade Frogskins that are coming down the pipe for you a little while ago. Now we give you a look at the whole kit. With custom hard and soft cases and a Grenade Army dog tag, along with that ill laser etch logo on the lens, these are gonna be the hot ticket Froggies for sure. We should have a release date soon. Try as you might, its hard to front on Frogskins, they really are perfection in casual eyewear. A quick look at Oakley’s stocklist only confirms this – every style is completely sold out. Soon to be added to the unattainable are the Grenade x Oakley Frogskins, a smooth olive green matte frame with iridium lenses and Grenade branding. You are gonna have to be pretty high up in the Grenade Army to get yourself a pair of these.

We’ve been watching Grenade over the last few months as they transition themselves from a snow-specific brand focused on gloves to a full on action sports lifestyle streetwear brand with a wide variety of offerings. With the release of their Summer 2009 T-shirts, it looks like they continue to head in the right direction. Strong and more mature graphics have replaced simple logo applications and give Grenade a look that’s definitely beyond typical mountain swag. The kid holding the grenade is classic. The Gumball 3000 road race is currently winding its way from Los Angeles to Miami, by way of Vegas, Dallas, New Orleans and every stretch of highway in between. A mix of wealthy euros, reality show participants, and David Hasslehoff whipping pimped out rides across the country with no rules, the Gumball 3000 also attracts a cadre of action sports athletes like Tony Hawk, Dave Mirra, Mat Hoffman and Bam Margera.
