Habitat is set to release its third video titled “Origin”. The video is a visual retrospective of the past decade with new footage from the entire team and highlights from the past. The Habitat crew never seem to disappoint and this might shape up to be their best video to date. Check out the trailer here.

Hong Kong’s premier skateboard shop 8Five2 celebrates its 10th anniversary by teaming up with Habitat on a limited edition deck. Th board will feature two colorways and you can cop one online now at 8Five2

Skateboarding’s greenest company Habitat will be releasing a special Earth Day Pack on April 22nd, the 40th anniversary of the international day of eco-consciousness. The pack consists of a special colorway of the Charter boat shoe, Cork-Ply cruiser deck, and organic t-shirt. A look at the full pack after the jump.

In a match made in spiritual awakeness, Habitat has brought Guru Khalsa onto their pro team. Guru will be blessed with 5 pro decks and his own colorway of the Summit high. Habitat has announced that Alex “Al Buttaz” Davis has joined their am squad and will be repping for their new footwear line starting in the spring. The Cincinnati kid was tapped to hold it down for Habitat’s home state, Ohio. To welcome him they hooked up a sick video part, check it out right here.

Habitat has just announced two new additions to their Euro Pro squad. Austrian Manuel Margreiter and Swede of Turkish descent Gunes Özdogan have both been bumped up to the pro team and blessed with their first pro model boards. Do you know that between the two of them, they can speak 7 languages? Most Americans can’t even speak one. Boards will hit exclusively at Habitat European accounts this spring.

Next up from Habitat’s Spring 2010 footwear line is the Basin Hiker. Equal parts trail hiker and travel shoe, ease of portage was top priority when designing the Basin. Featuring minimal construction and lining materials as well as lightweight cork and phylon in the footbeds, this kick is great for inclement weather or touring days on the road when you want to get out of your sneaker but don’t want to lug around a crazy heavy hiking boot. The Basin hits stores in February.

Habitat has some interesting new footwear coming out for Spring 2010 and have just dropped a preview of the Ibex. A nice low-profile mid, seen here in all black, the Ibex has a premium PU footbed riding on a recycled natural gum vulcanized outsole and of course put together with eco-friendly water-based glues. With midweight tongue and collar padding, this should be a good shoe for mellow springtime cruising. Look for these to ship to Habitat dealers in February of next year.

Habitat has some niceness for the summer with the release of their Cork Top Cruiser boards. In addition to the Silas Baxter-Neal “Lynx” and Stefan Janoski “Pachyderm,” they’ve also done a Janoski “Daily Use” collabo with Nike SB to correspond with the release of his new kicks. “Daily Use” is limited to only 200 boards worldwide, so you’ll need to get on it quick to get one of these. The Habitat Cork Top Cruisers have real cork laminated on the top of the deck, replacing the need for grip tape, and the cork is even harvested from live trees in a way that doesn’t fuck up the trees. Thats a win-win. Look for them at Habitat dealers now.

This is from Habitat’s Fall 2008 tour in which they drove from Winnipeg to Vancouver touring the concrete parks, wrecking vans, and twisting ankles. The tour started with Mike McDermott, Fred Gall, Tim O’Connor, Stefan Janoski, Guru Khalsa, Austyn Gillette, Marius Syvanen, Joe Castrucci, Brennan Conroy, Scott Pommier and Ryan Mcguigan. At the end of the trip only Austyn, Marius and Stefan remained skating. The music is by Nic Armstrong and the CD is “The Great White Liar”.
