In other big time snowboarding news, Icelandic shredder Halldor Helgason won the Rookie of the Year award at the Transworld Riders’ poll in Denver last night. He wasn’t there to get the award because he was too busy topping out the the elimination round of the X Games Slopestyle event but in winning he became the first ever to win Rook of the Year from both Transworld and Snowboarder. Torstein Horgmo just dropped this sick helmet cam video from one of his slopestyle runs at the Dew Tour stop at Snow Basin this month. Obviously the shit is incredible but what makes this so much radder is that Halldor Helgason is on the mic commentating the whole thing.
