On Saturday April 2, The NYC skate community will come together to remember and celebrate Harold Hunter’s birthday and to raise money for the Harold Hunter Foundation. From noon to 3pm Garden Skate indoor skatepark will host the NYC All Stars skate jam before the party moves to The Blind Barber in the LES for an after party featuring DJ’s Smoke LES and Hiro. The Harold Hunter Foundation, in association with Zoo York, CCS, DVS Shoes, Camp Woodward and Red Bull, is proud to announce the 4th Annual Harold Hunter Day is set for Sunday, October 10th, in New York City. All are invited out to celebrate Harold’s life and support a great cause, more info on the happenings of that day after the jump.

This Saturday, amidst the year’s most chaotic weekend of skate events in NYC, a more peaceful exercise will go down with the 3rd annual Legends Never Die run for Harold Hunter. Nike Sportswear is again hosting this run from their store on Mercer and finishing at Royale on 10th Street and Avenue C. A $20 donation gets you a ltd edition Harold Hunter DriFit, some food, and a warm fuzzy feeling inside knowing you supported a good cause and the memory of a legend. Full run info after the jump.

On May 17th the 2nd Annual Harold Hunter Day brought together NYC’s skateboarding community for a positive day of shredding in honor of the late, great Harold Hunter.

More than five-hundred skaters and spectators swarmed the Manhattan Bridge Skatepark for a heated six-hour session with beats provided by New York’s finest, Pete Rock.  Afterward, the masses flocked to KCDC Skateshop where, in true Harold form, the party bumped late into the night.

In celebration of this noteworthy occasion and to keep Harold’s spirit strong, the non-profit Harold Hunter Foundation has teamed up with The Zoo York Institute to release a limited edition HH Day II commemorative deck and t-shirt featuring Harold pics by long-time friend and acclaimed photographer, Giovanni Reda.

Both items are now available only at select New York shops including Rival, Autumn, Everything Must Go, Richmond Hood Company, Blades, DQM, and Homage.  Additionally, a special bundled kit including a deck, t-shirt and signed copy of Reda’s “Harold Hunter: The Book” is available exclusively at KCDC.  Proceeds from the sale of all HH Day II commemorative gear will be donated to the Harold Hunter Foundation which will use the funds to send six underprivileged NYC kids to Camp Woodward this summer.

The Zoo York Institute and New Era, in association with the Harold Hunter Foundation and KCDC Skateshop, are proud to announce that the 2nd Annual Harold Hunter Day will take place Saturday, May 17th, in New York City.

Harold Hunter Day II will unite NYC’s skateboarding community and surrounding scene for a positive day of skating in recognition of the vibrant life and times of New York legend, Harold Hunter.  An extraordinary personality with a caring heart, Harold touched the lives of countless people around the world.  With Harold’s passing in February 2006, HH Day was established to commemorate a life well lived by celebrating the things Harold loved most – skateboarding, music, friends, good times, and of course, NYC.
On May 17th, Harold Hunter Day II will kick off at the Manhattan Bridge Skatepark located underneath the Manhattan Bridge on the corner of Pike and Monroe Streets in Chinatown.  From Noon–6pm an all ages skate jam will take place, with a massive product toss and live music provided by DJ’s Neil Nice, Vinny Ponte, and New York’s finest, Pete Rock.

After the skate jam, a special HH Day II party will go down from 8pm–Midnight at KCDC Skateshop in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.  Open to the 21+ crowd only, the party will feature free drinks, live music, an art installation by Cinik, and a slide show of Harold pics from acclaimed photographer and long-time friend, Giovanni Reda.
