Following in the footsteps of his Oakley teamate Eero Ettala, Jake Blauvelt is dropping in on his own TV show this winter with Blauvelt’s Backcountry, a reality series documenting his globe trotting adventures on a shred stick. Starting this November, Blauvelt’s Backcountry will air on Fuel TV in the US and Australia, Sky Sports in the UK, NRK in Norway, MTV3 in Finland and Gaora in Japan. Stay tuned for specific air times.
Rider’s rider Jake Blauvelt has just been put on to Oakley’s Pro Rider Series apparel team. Although its hard to believe, he’s already been on Oakley eyewear for ten years and now he will be leading the direction of Oakley apparel along with Eero Ettala and Eiki Helgason. For the second portion of Eero’s Ettala’s time in British Columbia filming for “Tracking Eero”, he really got the trip of a lifetime, full-on pow sessions with living legend Terje Haakonsen and buck wile young buck Jake Blauvelt. While the Shut crew was mobbin the lower east side, the west side of town was poppin last night too with the Oakley throwdown for Tracking Eero. Eero Ettala, Jake Blauvelt, Eiki Helgason, and Tanner Hall did it up proper at the Red Bull Space with a mob of shred heads, Oakley bigwigs and Fuel camera crews while DJ Jacyeeoh turned it into a real ho-down. The Oakley Army has invaded NYC tonight for the world premiere of “Tracking Eero,” their new series on Fuel TV. Eero Ettala, Jake Blauvelt and Eiki Helgason have all dropped in for the event at the Red Bull Space in Soho with DJ Jayceeoh on the decks. It’s gonna be rammed out but worth it if you can get in. It’s gonna be hard to keep up with the Joneses if he keeps going like this. Living legend and big mountain master Jeremy Jones recently announced that he was leaving Rossignol to start his own brand and has just dropped the trailer for the epic-looking film, Deeper. Deeper also stars Jonaven Moore, Travis Rice, Josh Dirksen, Johan Olafsson, Jake Blauvelt and Xavier De La Rue in what might be the illest ode to the backcountry to date. Via ESPN.
