It definitely seems like NYC is the center of the skateboarding universe right now. Just a couple days after the Nike SB team blew minds with their demo at Coleman Park, some of the best pool skaters in the world dropped in for Vans Bowlarama at Pier 62. The latest dose features action from Christian Hosoi, Lance Mountain, Steve Caballero, Pedro Barros, Alex Sorgente, and more. Check it out!

Not content to let all these new brands dominate the plastic cruiser market, Lance Mountain himself has jumped into the fray and brought back Banana Boards. Featuring some design tweaks for the modern age, these babies are made for pure fun. To stoke the excitement they are giving some away via social media. As they continue to celebrate their 30th anniversary, Transworld drops this Lance Mountain interview by Skin Philips about what it was like to be such a history shaping figure in the word of skateboarding. A must watch.

He’ll be showing classics like Video Days and Bones Brigade Video Show and then discussing them with Spike Jonze, Stacy Peralta, Lance Mountain, Ed Templeton, Greg Hunt, Ty Evans, Rick Howard, Aaron Meza and Tobin Yelland. Here’s another dope video release from FTC, this time a mini doc about OG skate photographer Ken Goto, who just had an art show in San Francisco this past weekend. “Extended Vacation” features a wide range of Goto’s works both pure and augmented by the likes of Ed Templeton, Lance Mountain, and more. In what was a gathering that both inspired and saddened, the Love & Guts Art Show tribute to skateboarding’s fallen heroes completed it’s one night stand last night at the Red Bull Space in NYC. Standing in a room with legends like Steve Caballero and Lance Mountain and viewing their personal artistic respects to the ones that passed too soon was moving beyond words.
