This past Saturday, Nike held the opening reception for its Made for Skate The Exhibition at Sixth & Mill in downtown LA. The exhibit gave guests a look at 10 years of evolution for the Nike SB brand. Hit the jump for a gallery of flicks from the evening. Photos by Jacqueline Kynoch.

Skateboard Museum in Stuttgart, Germany recently hosted a party to launch the Nike SB “Roller Derby” Dunks they inspired. Check out the above vid where the creative team behind Made For Skate get experiential. These guys are going to prove ahead of their time, watch.

Technology really hit at the right time for the creators of Made for Skate, the skate shoe coffee table book that would have been on a clearance table at the bookstore right now if it hadn’t been for an everlasting stream of digital ways to repackage the book. Following versions for the iPod Touch and iPhone, Made for Skate has now been made fully operational and hella interactive on the iPad. Check out a demo here.

We let you know this was coming a few weeks back, here are the details. In a novel approach to the App game, the recent book Made For Skate, a compendium of skate shoes through the years, has been flipped into an iPhone / iTouch app appropriately called, iMade For Skate. iMade For Skate is essentially an encyclopedia of skate shoes with pics and info on your hip at all times, so you’ll never be without your favorite kicks again. It even has an auto update for new shoe info each month as well as a store locator to find featured shoes. Cop it for $1.99 at the iTunes store. Some more images after the jump.

Made For Skate has been making noise for the sheer depth and breadth of its look into skate shoes as well for the traveling exhibition of skaters and kicks it’s been touring around with for the last couple months. Earlier we told you about the Made For Skate book being presented by Element. Now Made For Skate has announced a California signing tour. Various TBD contributors to Made For Skate will be hitting Huf SF, Huf LA and the Skatelab Skatepark in Simi Valley to sign books, show off classic kicks and shoot the shit on skate shoes.
