According to TMZ, Mountain Dew has dropped Lil Wayne from their global marketing campaign after taking offense at a line mentioning Emmet Till. How white people coule take money away from a black person for making a reference to an incident in which white people murdered an innocent black person is so far beyond comprehension that thinking about it might make your head explode. We’re going to have to side with LilTunechi on this one.

Check out what went down on our mission from Glendale to Venice. Filmed and edited by Leighton Pope.

In the Spring of this year Danny teamed up with Mountain Dew and Burton to build a one-of-a-kind pipe / park hybrid like nothing we’ve ever seen before. Snow Park Technologies crafted the pipe and topped it off with a channel, wall ride, volcano, C boxes, and rails built in. Built in Northstar this past May, Danny opened up the pipe to nine friends including Jack Mitrani, Kevin Pearce, Terje Haakonsen, Mikkel Bang, Mark McMorris, Christian Haller, Pat Moore, and Austen Sweetin for a day of shredding and grilling.
As if New York City didn’t have enough problems, Mayor Bloomberg has caused another with his quest to outlaw soda in quantities bigger than 16 ounces. While its certainly an example of misguided politics, it has created a lane for soda marketers to have some fun. Just in time for the vote on the soda ban this Thursday, September 13, Mountain Dew and the New York Art Department have joined forces for an outdoor campaign entitled “PROHIBITION: NEW YORK CITY” and are asking people to Instagram it tagged #dewyorkcity. Check out some more of the campaign locations after the jump.
