Shut, Vans, Dakine, Nixon, and Prizefighter are getting together to throw Chopper Dave’s 4th Annual Skate Jam at the Throggs Neck Skate Park in the Bronx on June 7th. This unofficial kick off to summer event has become a NYC tradition and brings out the best street skaters in the city looking to get noticed and brought up to the next level. We’ve been dropping the Nixon Rubber Players for you for the last two months. After blue in March and a hot red for April, Nixon cools it off again with a grass green colorway for May. On a more tranquil side of the spectrum a consortium of seven leading surf brands have combined to form project BLUE, a special line of co-branded goods, the sale of which goes to the non-profit Surfrider Foundation. The participating brands are Billabong, DAKINE, Electric, Famous Wax, Nixon, O’Neill and Reef.

We have a couple of pieces from Billabong and O’Neill to show you here. The Billabong Supersonic boardshorts are made from the company’s proprietary Eco-Supreme Suede material, made from recycled plastic bottles. According to the company more than three million plastic bottles have been diverted from landfills to become Billabong boardshorts in the last three years. The O’Neill Atmosphere hoodie and tee are made from organic cotton and printed using soy based inks. Take a look after the jump.

Last month we brought you the news about Nixon’s sick Rubber Player and the blind retail strategy being employed for its distribution. After going blue for March, Nixon is dropping the Rubber Player in a blazing firetruck red for April. Already can’t wait to see what’s next! Detailed looks after the jump.

Nixon has just announced that they will release the limited edition Rubber Player starting March 16. In a blind rollout, retailers will receive the all rubber version of the Nixon Player in a new colorway each month through June and will not know which color they are receiving prior to delivery. The Rubber Player will not be available for reorder. The watch features 3-hand Japanese quartz movement, a custom molded silicone case and a diamond and comes with a collectors kit stand. Dope.

Watch out WESC, Nixon has just dropped in on the headphone game, and they are not doing it lightly. Known for their attention to detail as well as their distinct design sensibilities, Nixon is putting everything they’ve perfected with their watches into their new line of personal audio. Currently consisting of three models, the high end Master Blaster, the travel specific Nomadic and the Wire earbuds, Nixon headphones are as pleasing sonically as they are visually.
