Disney’s European cash grab popped off last week as summer X Games touched down in Barcelona for the first time ever. Corporate homogenization aside, Barcelona is sick and so were the athletes that attended. Check out Oakley’s take on the event in the above edit hosted by Curren Caples.
Oakley has added a rad frame to the mix for summer with their new Garage Rock. The best way to describe the frame, which comes in a wide variety of colors and both polarized and non polarized lenses, would be to say they’re like Buddy Holly designed a pair of Frogskins. If that doesn’t help, hit the jump to see the complete collection. Buy a pair here.
Some ill futuristic shit is going on today with the long awaited release of the Oakley Airwave, the first major manufacturer snow goggle with built-in heads up display that basically turns you into the Terminator on the hill. The tech specs are so tech that we’ve lifted them straight from Oakley, so hit the jump to read them and see the other colorway.
This week on dose, Eric Koston gives a firsthand look at his new 3 piece sunglass collection with Oakley and then gets into what it was like to get the Epicly Later’d treatment. As always, Koston is an interesting dude. Another look at the Frogskins after the jump. Hit Network A on Facebook to win a pair.
Vice and Oakley recently teamed up to celebrate the launch of Eric Koston’s newest Oakley signature collection and take a sneak peak at Vice’s upcoming Epicly Later’d series on the man himself. The event went down on the rooftop of the The Standard, East Village where the Blackouts provided the soundtrack and guests boozed it up during a torrential downpour. Hit the jump to see what went down. Photos by Brad Clarke.
SE and Oakley have just dropped their collabo racing gloves, a rad version of the Factory Pilot. Featuring team fit, shorter cuffs for greater wrist articulation, perforated thumb knuckle pads, out-turned seams on the fingers, and “B1-B” finger grippers, the Factory Pilot can be found online here or at select SE shops. More looks after the jump.
Taking it up a notch from their counterpart in NYC, the re-opening of the Oakley Flagship store in London tomorrow will feature a massive chandelier made out of 4000 pairs of Frogskins and illuminated by changing colored lights. The Convent Garden store also features an 800 lb metallic angel with a 25 foot wing span as well a custom lab and complete Oakley product line. Check out some more looks after the jump.
Oakley opened their new flagship store in Times Square this past Thursday with a private party that drew the likes of Ryan Sheckler, Nigel Sylvester, and Rodney Torres as well as a wide range of NYC industry heads, media and brand fanatics. The new location, under MTV studios, carries a full range of Oakley products and features a custom sunglass bar in the back. Jacob Breinholt produced this quick edit from the evening for Radcollector. Check out some additional stills after the jump.
As if timed perfectly with his latest route at Winter X, Oakley previewed Shaun White’s new 18k gold Frogskins at SIA in Denver this weekend. It’s obviously going to take a certain type of person to pull these off, so there’s a slightly dialed down version in black with gold accents as well. Looks at both after the jump.
The final part of SE Bikes’ collabo with the Big O is this buttery blue and brown Frogskin. Only 200 pairs have been circulated to SE dealers across the entire globe so if you need a pair you better get cracking.
