Following in the footsteps of his Oakley teamate Eero Ettala, Jake Blauvelt is dropping in on his own TV show this winter with Blauvelt’s Backcountry, a reality series documenting his globe trotting adventures on a shred stick. Starting this November, Blauvelt’s Backcountry will air on Fuel TV in the US and Australia, Sky Sports in the UK, NRK in Norway, MTV3 in Finland and Gaora in Japan. Stay tuned for specific air times.

The Love & Guts exhibition latest stop on its 5 year road trip was to Orange County during th Maloof Cup just like it did at the MMC in NYC. Since bringing back the Frogskin, the ridiculous demand for these once simple, almost throwaway glasses has gotten to the point where Oakley has had to figure out ways to satisfy their lifestyle consumer with a slightly more performance oriented frame. Last year it was the Jupiter, which although well-received for the most part, didn’t quite satisfy everyone. Oakley definitely knows how to pick their competitive athletes. The big O took a total of 21 medals at Winter X 14 this past weekend including 10 golds, 6 silvers, and 5 bronze.
