Powerhouse Books has gotten together with longtime champions and documentarians of the New York City skateboarding scene, Alex Corporan, Andre Razo and Ivory Serra for Full Bleed: New York City Skateboard Photography, a photo book chronicling over 30 years of skateboarding in the center of the universe. The amazing list of contributors includes Giovanni Reda, Jessica Bard, Ivory Serra, Tobin Yelland, Rad Collector’s own Craig Wetherby and Michael Cohen, Miki Vuckovich, Thomas Campbell, Larry Clark, Ed Templeton, Jerry Hsu, Atiba Jefferson, Bryce Knights, Angela Boatwright, Athena Currey, Kenneth Cappello, Charlie Samuels, Andy Kessler, Mike O’Meally, Sammy Glucksman, Allen Ying, and more. Rad Collector - Blabac Photo LA Release Recap
Mike Blabac dipped back to LA to release his book and shoe in LA on Friday. Legends were all around: Lance Mountain, Danny Way, Rob Dyrdek, Steve Berra, Jason Ellis, Atiba Jefferson and more came through the DC store on Melrose to pay homage to a dude that has immortalized many of them with his lens. The Mike Blabac “Blabac Photo: The Art of Skateboard Photography,” and the Blabac Azure Mid NYC release party went down in usual off the hook fashion at the powerHouse arena in DUMBO on Tuesday night. The man himself was in the house with a stellar collection of prints essentially representing the crucial modern history of skateboarding while DC, Homage, Shut, etnies and more threw down 33.8 oz Sapporo’s and a nearly endless stream of asian delights. This summer, legendary skate photog Mike Blabac is releasing BLABAC PHOTO – The Art of Skateboarding Photography with powerHouse Books. To commemorate this achievement and to thank him for a decade of work as the exclusive skate photographer for the brand, DC is releasing the Blabac Azure Mid shoe.

Blabac has captured some of modern skatebaording’s most epic moments including Danny Way’s jump over the Great Wall of China. BLABAC PHOTO also includes works by J. Grant Brittain (Director of Photography, The Skateboard Mag), Dave Swift (Editorial Director, The Skateboard Mag), Jake Phelps (Editor, Thrasher), Scott Johnston (Shoe Designer, Lakai), Aaron Meza (Visual Media Marketing Manager, Girl Skateboards), Ken Block (Co-Founder and Chief Brand Officer, DC), and Skin Phillips (Editor-in-Chief, TransWorld SKATEboarding).

The Blabac Azure Mid includes details like photo-printed insoles and a signed Blabac photo print in a limited number of boxes. This is the first sig model DC has ever made with a non team member.
