Electric continues their dedication to project BLUE campaign with the release of three new polarized models. As always, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of the Hoy Inc., OHM III, and Mutiny will go to support the more than fifteen ocean-focused non-profit organizations under the SIMA Environmental Fund, which includes the Surfrider Foundation. Electric has just announced the release of two new sunglasses as part of project BLUE. Both the Module and the BPM feature polarized lenses and will see portions of their sales go directly to the Surf Industry Manufacturers Association (SIMA) Environmental Fund. Nixon has dropped two new watches for the ongoing project BLUE collabo series, The Outsider Tide (above) and the Superhero 2 TI PU. Both watches feature tide information for 200 beaches and other surf specific functions, and as always part of the proceeds go to the SIMA Environmental Fund. Electric has just dropped their latest collaboration with Project BLUE. Like all Project BLUE collabs, portions of the sale of the G.Seven Polarized with go to the SIMA Environmental Fund. All of Electric’s polarized sunglasses are a part of project BLUE.

Just in time for the late summer swells comes the next piece in the ongoing project BLUE collabo series: the Famous Timmy Curran pro-model traction pad. Made from 40 percent recycled foam, the eco Timmy has a three piece design and features a 27mm kicktail. As always, part of the profits go to Surfriders so it’s all good. Continuing the rollout of dope products helping to clean the oceans, Electric has released their contribution to the project BLUE campaign. Proceeds from both the Meter (pictured) and the G.Six will go to “coastline protection initiatives worldwide.” If you need new glasses, it’s hard to argue against buying these. We’ve been telling you about the different aspects of project BLUE, the surf industry initiative to donate money from the sales of special product to the Surfrider Foundation. In addition to their other efforts, project BLUE has launched a contest asking people to take a picture of themselves in front of a shop that carries brands that are a part of project BLUE (Billabong, DAKINE, Electric, Famous Wax, Nixon, O’Neill and Reef) and then a second picture inside the store next to project BLUE merch. A little while ago we brought you the good news about project BLUE, the surf industry’s collaborative effort to benefit the Surfrider Foundation. Today we announce that Famous Wax has joined project BLUE with their new eco-friendly wax, Green Label. Green Label surf wax is 100 percent petrochemical free, made with high-grade Earth friendly/organic ingredients and completely biodegradable. It comes wrapped in FSC certified packaging and is available in five temperatures, including basecoat. Look for more from this great project this summer.

On a more tranquil side of the spectrum a consortium of seven leading surf brands have combined to form project BLUE, a special line of co-branded goods, the sale of which goes to the non-profit Surfrider Foundation. The participating brands are Billabong, DAKINE, Electric, Famous Wax, Nixon, O’Neill and Reef.

We have a couple of pieces from Billabong and O’Neill to show you here. The Billabong Supersonic boardshorts are made from the company’s proprietary Eco-Supreme Suede material, made from recycled plastic bottles. According to the company more than three million plastic bottles have been diverted from landfills to become Billabong boardshorts in the last three years. The O’Neill Atmosphere hoodie and tee are made from organic cotton and printed using soy based inks. Take a look after the jump.
