The Berrics and Quiksilver teamed up for a short film entitled “QUIK”. Shot exclusively on the sidewalks and streets of Los Angeles giving an unprecedented look into the world of street skating in its rawest and most distilled form. Captured entirely from a moving vehicle, the film follows Austyn Gillette as he skates through the neighborhoods of LA’s historic east-side and downtown at top speed.
Quiksilver is set to release the Moondak. A digital tide movement watch that features 15 years of pre-programmed tide data for 200 spots around the world including the Americas, Europe, Australia, Asia Pacific, and Africa. Check out some of the colorways after the jump.
Last Friday the finals of the Quiksilver Pro New York went down in Long Beach and thanks to Hurricane Katia the waves didn’t disappoint. We took our Hex iPod watch bands and joined the thousands of other surf fans in the sand to watch Owen Wright and Kelly Slater battle it out for the $300,000 pay day. Before the finals we got a chance to kick it with some friends and spotted one of them rocking the new Wallet iPhone case. After the chill session we watched Owen Wright win the competition, but what’s even crazier is we ran into him at brunch the next day! Check out all the pics from Brad Clarke after the jump.
Last night Quiksilver in conjunction with Mollusk Surf Shop & Monster Children took over Union Pool in Brooklyn for a night filled with bands, booze, and surfers. Between shots of Espolon Tequilla we managed to get a couple pics of the crowd that included Dane Reynolds, Craig Anderson, Kassia Meador, and many more. Hit the jump for a gallery of photos from Brad Clarke.
Quiksilver, who already have the distinction of making the world’s best board shorts (seriously, have you tried Diamond Dobby?) have taken it up a notch with the Core Collection for summer 2011. The shorts in the Core Collection are available only at Quik’s tier one dealers and of course come in the best colorways. See them all after the jump.
Quiksilver makes some progress with their skate footwear program with the new RF1 Reese Forbes pro model. Coming in both a regular and limited version (above), the RF1 is a nice cross of skate specific engineering with rockable style. Check out a behind the scenes video on the RF1 after the jump.
Quiksilver just dropped a rad free full length edit on the interwebz. “Moments,” is 24 minutes of Kelly Slater, Dane Reynolds, Jeremy Flores, Craig Anderson, Clay Marzo and the rest of the global Quiksilver surf team in Indonesia, Hawaii, Tahiti, Mexico, Australia, France and Puerto Rico. They even pulled out the helicopters for this one, enjoy.
We brought you a sneak peek of the sick new Hubble goggle from Quik a couple weeks ago, now check out this super rad video teaser by L-Krtel and Gauthier Richard.
Are you ready to have your mind completely fuckin blown? That’s about all that can be said about the trailer for T-Rice’s Art of Flight, which dropped today. Watch it here.
It looks like 2011/12 is going to be all about big face goggles with several makers debuting super dope models with an emphasis on peripheral vision. At the top of the heap is the new Quiksilver goggle developed with Travis Rice, the Hubble. True to the name, the goggle is on some space age shit and features the first ever 180º multi-base spherical lens. A more detailed look to come.
