SHUT has just dropped a rad new deck series for October. “Sunsets” consists of five decks in sizes 7.75, 8, 8.125, 8.25, 8.5, with graphics by Eli Gesner featuring full bleed sunsets laid under SHUT New York City skyline typography in five variations. The limited edition release is available now at SHUT Skate Mechanics and SHUT accounts worldwide.
This weekend, just in time for the entire skate industry to drop into NYC for the Maloof Cup, Vans Syndicate is launching a 48 takeover of the SHUT Skate Mechanics shop on Orchard Street in the LES. The takeover will feature an in-store party on Friday and then two days dedicated to Vans Syndicate’s sneakers and deck pack with SHUT founder Rodney Smith. History incarnate yo. Today is Full Bleed Day in NYC, with a legendary lineup of NYC skateboarders and documentarians coming together for a signing at SHUT Skate Mechanics from 4pm to 7pm and then an opening for the book’s gallery show at Milk Studios from 8pm to 11pm. SHUT Skates will be hosting the release party and book signing for legendary NYC graffiti artist STAY HIGH 149 this Thursday, July 1 at their Skate Mechanics shop on Orchard street. Legend status is tossed around a lot these days but from his prolific ups to his lifelong struggle against personal demons, this man is truly deserving of the honor.
