Last night was the opening reception for the Shut x Impossible collaboration that joined skateboarding with Polaroid photography. Zered Bassett, Scott Caan, Eli Morgan Gesner, Chris Nieratko, Alex Olson, and Scott Oster all captured unique images that were then made into a limited edition series of six skateboard graphics by Shut. If you are going to be in NYC this fall, there’s an extra reason to hit up SHUT Skate Mechanics in the Lower East Side – photographer Michael Cirelli has a rad exhibit of archival photos hanging throughout the shop. Not everyone went from Maloof in Queens to Coleman Park on Go Skateboarding Day in NYC. A select crew including Radcollector familia and columnists Michael Cohen, Brad Clarke, and Alex Corporan kept it in Money Making Manhattan with a GSD mission that included stops at Ace Hotel, The Hundreds, Chrome, SHUT, and The Meatball Shoppe before hitting up Coleman. Ryan Sheckler hit NYC yesterday to shoot a new commercial for Go Pro and hit up SHUT for some scenes at and in front of the store. The commercial will feature footage from Sheck’s pro-model “dick cam” and will be seen on TV as well as the interwebs. More photos from Michael Cohen after the jump.
